So far, so good. See you all at lunchtime. Does the pub do food?

But, come to think of it, the Museum has a cafe, which is probably a much better place to eat. It also has a bar that does very nice
and
. So I'd suggest that anyone who's hungry when they arrive eats there - then the rest of us can get on with exploring the Museum.

* GreyDesk's Tip For The Day *
Remember that you can't remember where everyone is meeting BEFORE you get in the car and hack it North at a great rate of knots.
(I got to about Kettering before the realisation hit me )

Thanks for organising the Brocolli, Ormy. I enjoyed the Bugs IMAX film . Did you have a nice curry?

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Oct 5, 2003
Home
Only an hour an a half later than it would have been if every single train I was on had not have been delayed
Half an hour late leaving Bradford
half an hour late arriving York, thought I'd missed me connection... but that was running 45 minutes late... The train from york got as far as some place called St neats or something, where a points failure ment a revese trip to the previous points... one hour late by the time I fell off the train at Stevenage... then a wait for the next train to Cambridge, as had missed connection by about an hour
finally got back about quter to seven found a taxi eventually, got home, threw bag on bed, and drank
no time for dinner, pub is immanant
Pizza or kebab after the pub me thinks
Great meet, and well done for organising it all (and rigging the quizz questions so I'd end up with the lowest score as I always* do
)
Everyone made it home safe?

for the new T'Shirt
I really didn't think I'd done that well in the quiz but I must have done
Spent a while on sunday in Saltaire looking round the gallery in the big Mill and a walk round the village there.

I was very tired last night, so tired I had to take an early night, and went to bed before* 1 AM!
Just after I'd eaten me kebab, obviously

Glad you like the T-shirt, Phil - you earned it! If I ever set another quiz, I might make it a little less mean. Then again, maybe not... And I'm glad to hear that Saltaire was open. I really must pay it another visit myself.
I'm also glad to hear that you got home OK, 2Legs, albeit after some delays. I take it that you haven't yet started that diet you were talking about?

Thanks for organising a great meet there Ormy The curry element was especially good, and makes me realise what I'm missing living here in the South of England
The trip home was pretty uneventful, apart from hitting a bird at about 95mph on the A43 - small burst of feathers and that was that!

Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Oct 6, 2003
Why was a bird doing 95mph down the A3?
thread to discuss specifics in detail of things and stuff and whatnot
GreyDesk Posted Oct 6, 2003
It was all a bit unfortunate. There was this small bird scavenging on some roadkill and neither of us saw one another until far too late - a dull thump and a spray of black feathers coming up over the bonnet and passed the windscreen.
When I stopped a few miles later for fuel I could see no evidence on the bumper or splitter that anything had ever happened.

'Kebabs can help you loose weight as part of a calory controlled diet.' Well, it was the only* thing I ate yesterday! Having missed breckfast at teh Victoria (can't remember the last time I made it to breckfast a t a hotel...)
and didn't seem to be much availible on the trains, I guess because it was a Sunday
Of course, there was a few hundred calories in the beer before the kebab, but I don't think that really counts... Does it?
