Has there been any progress on looking for cheap accomodation in the Bradford area? Or perhaps I ought to get off of fat lazy ar*e and do it myself smiley - yikes

OK, I got off my arse and found this - http://room4u.org.uk/hotels/bradford/index.asp - The Victoria Hotel could do a single room from £36 per night, which seems pretty reasonable to me.

Unless anyone else can do any better, I think I might just book myself in there smiley - smiley

I've never been inside the Victoria, but it looks very nice from the outside, and it's absolutely perfectly placed. It's right next to the station and the pub where we're meeting, and within sight of the NMPFT. smiley - ok

Waiting to see where others are staying - not being lazy; it'd be nice to have a bunch of us together.

Okay, here are some train times. Health warning - these are the schedules that the trains are currently planned to follow. When the timetable is published it is possible they may vary by a couple of minutes from what I am posting here. It's a pretty good guide, though. If somebody gives me an e-kick, I'll do an update towards the last week in September. I don't know how this will line up on screen, I'm sure you can work it out.

So, er, the Victoria Hotel everyone?

Don't worry, I'll find the train times from Middlesbrough myself.

Right, I'm booked into the Victoria Hotel for Friday & Saturday nights.

Lord knows what time I'll arrive in Bradford, because as a part of the journey I'll have to negotiate the M25 at about half five on a Friday afternoon. Mmmm... fun smiley - erm

C'mon where're you all staying? See, I've got a bit of a choice now - I could head back to Leeds to see people, but then if we're all up in the same hotel that'd be smiley - cool. More expensive, though.

smiley - yikessmiley - doh I better gt looking at this, see how plausible traveling up by train is on the day of the meet smiley - erm that hotel sounds good, If I can get organised I'll likely go for that smiley - biggrin : does it have a bar? smiley - ermsmiley - whistlesmiley - run

Right, rail ticket booked - a day return from Leeds, so I'm not stopping oernight. Is the cut off point for a day ticket midnight? I'd probably not want to stay too late anyhow.

Amy smiley - ant - be good to see you. Can I have my smiley - towel back, please?

Post 37

Aha - 'nother train question. If you look at your tickets they will be marked valid on date shown, which would indicate that you can't go back after midnight on the same day. That said I work with timetables, not tickets - I'll ask the right people and get you an answer tomorrow, Bagpuss.

I've traveled back before, after midnight, on a 'one day' type rail ticket, never seemed a problem smiley - ermsmiley - weirdsmiley - zoom

Yes, I've found that as well. The 'day return' ticket from Brighton to London allows you to leave London up until about 4am the next morning. Very useful indeed... smiley - bigeyes

...although maybe not that useful in the current context smiley - flustered

Perhaps you can do it, then - it's not something I've ever tried. I'll get a definitive answer tomozz.
