Madame,
Hastily dropped in to wish you a Very Happy Easter !!!
Hope you had a lovely time today.
Over loaded with work , in addition some fly rock, while blasting at site, caused minor damage to a nearby building and had to hold an inquiry 2 x
Anyway, your "James Bond Special" vodka martini cocktail shaken but not stirred - is just what the doctor ordered.
Take care,
All my best wishes and regards,
DS

DS Thank you for your kind Easter wishes, I hope you are also having a good Easter.
Went to the Maundy Thursday Mass but it was not as well as attended as previous years and the same was for the Good Friday service and the Easter vigil. Even though there has been an influx of new parishioners who were previously living in London.
Today I watched the repeat showing of the Doctor Who first of a series of 13 programmes. He has taken over from David Tennant, it was quite low key theme but had some interesting new ideas.
The weather has been very mixed and very cold, as of previous years it was quite blustery making lighting our candles outside impossible we had to go inside and light our candles.
Sorry to hear that you have been overloaded with work and that there had to have an inquiry.
Thank you for the "James Bond Special" vodka martini cocktail shaken but not stirred, and he's fond of champagne but it has to be Dom Perignon and his whisky has to be always a single malt .
Take care,
with all my best wishes and regards for Easter,
Katrine

Hi Katrine,
I'm spending some time at home after weeks.
We had a lovely holiday. Trust all's well in Thurrock, and, with your studies too.
We're having monsoonal thunderstorms - really heavy doses of lightning indeed.

Hello DS
I have had the winter stomach bug for the past three weeks and I am in the last phase of the illness and I am just starting to get over it. It will take about a week to a fortnight to recover from it. Quite a few people I know have had it and it spreads very quickly throughout the community. I am one of the last people to get it and when you get it takes a long time to get free of it.
I have now finished my studies and I am looking for both paid and voluntary work. I will be doing voluntary work to help me get the experience that I need to get for paid work but eve voluntary work is hard to come by.
I hope you and your family are keeping well too.
My late father told me of moonsoon type of weather when he lived in South Africa. I hope that have not been any floods where you are and that you are safe from the lightning strikes.
Please can I have an Irish +=
Warmest wishes and regards,
Katrine

Katrine,
Here's a round of Irish + may I suggest Cognac but then will it be = Stout ?
Before I go any further, please let me wish you a speedy recovery from the nasty bug you've contacted.
I am sure you will find a job of your liking in the very near future.
Lightning strikes are at very short intervals and goes on for about an hour !!!! My household staff have a terrible time unpluggung all the electronic and electrical euipment. Storms start every evening, thankfully no floods near my home, but one of the coffer dams at my site suffered serious damage.
By the way - hope you had a nice Easter?
Once again,
All the very best of health to you,
Warmest Wishes and Regards,
DS

Hello DS
Thank you for your kind wishes and I hope that you and your family had a wonderful time when you were on holiday.
Thank you for your very kind concern, I am slowly getting better and my appetite is increasing as well.
My Easter was a quiet one spent with my sister and we both attended church on the Easter tridium days.
Thank you for your kind explanation about what happens when you experience a thunder and lightning storm. We don't have them much here, but when I do, I do the same and rush around switching as many electrical appliances off, usuually it's only two the tv/computer and fridge freezer.
It has been quite on h2g2 with the server going down on various occasions duirng the day. I am only here now on during the day and not online in the evenings.
Thanks for the round of Irish , cognac will be very nice but I have changed my mind about the .
Here is are a few glasses of , a very nice pick-me-up tonic.
Warmest wishes and regards,
Katrine

Hi Katrine,
Stormy weather still continues in SL ..... nevertheless,
Has summer arrived in England? I'll be watching lots of sports this weekend - especially the tennis from Roland Garros.
By the way, our weekend begins today, we are having a 4-day weekend .... more ..... if you don't mind
Hope you've done superbly well in your studies.
How are your neighbours? Interesting as ever I trust.
Wishing you the very best,

Hello DS
I have been reminiscing about places that I used to live, one of them was in Scotland a small village called Barrhill http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrhill,_South_Ayrshire which was about 12 miles away from Girvan
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girvan. A nearby Scottish island off Scotland http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ailsa_Craig
Here is the most remote part of the UK at the Fair Isles http://www.fairisle.org.uk/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Isle
I hope that the weather in Sri Lanka will improve soon and thank you for the
Summer officially starts in June but this year the seasons are out of kilter because we had a late winter. We have had some warm weather for five days but it's back to cloudy skies.
I have not been watching the yet. My neighbours have been very quiet but some evenings there have been rowdy passerbys who have had one too many as they walk away from the pub and or going to a party.
Thanks for the
Wonderful news about the four day weekend.
Warmest wishes and regards

Hi Katrine,
I checked the sites - Scotland is such a beautiful place. Most of the tea estates here have Scottish names - infact, the Mini Hydro Power Project I am currently working on is in an estate named Kirkoswald !!!
The weather was quite tolerable today.

Hello SD
Tonight there is going to the Eurovision contest and there are a lot more countries taking part than there were twenty years ago . But this year some of countries that were taking part last year are not taking part this year because they cannnot afford to send their contestors due to financial problems.
We are also having a holiday and it's on Monday and it's the second bank holiday this month. We have two in May, one at the Monday nearest to the 1st of May and one at the end of the month.
The weather is not very good today as there has been quite a bit of drizzle, which is quite typrical as we rarely get good weather on your bank holidays.
Thanks for checking out the sites that I sent you.,
Warmest wishes and regards for the weekend.

Hello DS
Thank you all is well, we are having some warm weather and some bright sunshine and I hope you are well too.
Tomorrow I have got an interview at a nature reserve for either work at their tourist information centre/shop or their cafe.
I have not been watching the World cup football and saw a few glimpses of the tennis at Wimbledon. I find that the tennis players are not the same as they were in the 80's and I enjoyed watching it more then I do now. I even watched John McCenroe in the quarters final at Wimbledon one year when I was living in Harold Hill in Essex (the Greater London part) and it took me 1 and half hours to get their by bus, train and bus again.
Best wishes and regards,
Katrine

Hi Katrine,
Here's some Lion Lager ...... a popular lager brewed in my country.
Great news about your job, hope you enjoy it and earn lots of money. .
I used to enjoy the summer there in England, the late 70's - what an era !!! Almost every year I would watch the Grand Prix, Wimbledon and the Lord's Test match. Also, loved attending the Capitol Jazz Festival (Is Capitol Radio still on air?).
Warmest Best Regards,
DS

Hello DS
Thank you for the Lion Lager.
The job that I went for was a voluntary one and it involved a lot of heavy lifting which sadly I am not built for (I have always had problems with lifting without the use of a special trolley and my back is worse than it used to be) and I asked to be considered for any voluntary administration positions but they have all the voluntary office staff that they need. There are voluntary schemes for youngsters under the age of 25 and probably undergraduates working there as volunteers and will be there on long term contracts and that is why there are probably are not any openings for me. I do get my bus fares paid but not for attending the interview.
Yes I think Capital Radio is still on the air but I don't get in my area as I think it only covers the greater London area.
I lived in London in the 70's, I lived in Plaistow in the East End and it was three or four miles from West Ham and the funniest thing about West Ham football team is that it's not in West Ham but half way between East Ham and Manor Park. I remember the heat wave of 1976 when the summer where the average temperatures were 90°F (32.2°C) and reached a maximum 95°F (35°C). It was so hot that I could not walk on the pavements bare footed and when I went to the seaside the sand was very hot. Never tried sunbathing as I found it very boring, I think I tried for five minutes and lost all interest and went inside to do some reading.
Some chilled organically produced real with ice .

Hello DS
Thank you I had a lovely birthday party tea with white wine, I had a few too many (three small glasses) and it went to my head.
The weather has been good but in the past week it has been getting a lot cooler. Only had one good shower of rain and need a lot more as the grass is very dry. There was a at 20:30 and it lasted for a few minutes and the sun was shining and there was pinkish tinge to the clouds. The saying goes red sky at night shepherd's delight, red sky in the morning sailor's warning, hopefully Friday will be a good day as I am going on my Friay walk to Davy Down Woods http://www.davydown.org.uk/index.htm for the Friday health walk and it's a two and half miles from the start to finish.
Thank you for the and for the , I have once had truffles.
Warmest wishes
