Kasese, Colin Powell was on the news last night here in NZ, saying that the 12,000 page report had 'signinficant omissions'- about what Iexpected of the Yanquis.. Hans Blix was said to be backing Powell, but what Blix *actually* said was that the omissions were written (not written, I mean)but the ommitted material had been reported verbally to Blix and his team! You're right, Dubya and his cohort have decided (perhaps as long ago as last year) that they wanted a war in Iraq. Here it comes!

I find it reprehensible that World Peace is in the hands of one arrogant leader who believes he represents the common good.. I remember during the Vietnam War speaking to many Vets. In the most part, those who I associtated with said that the next great war would be in the Middle East. An opinion and fear which has been re-iterated around the world in the past 10 yrs.! The Gulf War was simply a pre-emptive military exercise (a sort of practice run) which in my view was a pre-cursor of America's plan to control those nations which it thinks as viable in contributing to the American way of life. ie OIL. As a Canadian, I'm thankfuil for the fact that we don't have the financial or military resources to join America and Britain in an all scale war. I would hope that our role would continue to be recognized as Peace Keepers, not as War Mongers.

>I am. I am just disgusted by how stupid the US govenrment, and most US citizens are. Since I live in the US, I have everyday experiance with that. Prehaps I shouldn't have been so viscious, but the problems I mentioned do exist. <
Before branding others 'stupid' in a post it might carry more weight if that post was not riddled with spelling, puncuation and grammer errors. A little friendly advice from a fellow 'stupid' american.

I'm sorry. I was in a hurry and I didn't proofread it. That was really really moronic of me.

No offence meant R. Daneel. I am guilty of the same thing R.Daneel. I just found it ironic in light of your topic.
Also I think the more you travel the more you will find you will find that american's have no corner on stupidity. However your remark on the US school systems being sub-standard is correct on the most part. Since school systems are financed on a municipal leval there is a drastic difference on funding which produces a drastic difference in school systems.

Unlurking to say that "it will be all over by March" has a depressing ring to it.
Incog.A thoroughly depressed Brit halfway into a bottle of tequila.

The word "moronic' has a familiar ring to me. Just recently, there was a media frenzy centered around a fellow Canadian ,who is was an aide to our Prime Minister, She said that Presedent Bush is a "Moron" She has since been forced to resign for merely stateing the truth! Her comments were judged as detrimental to the already strained relations between Canada and the US over the Iraqi issue.

>Kasese,
While I believe you should be able to speak your mind with out fearing repercussions there are times when disgression is warrented or even mandated.
This person held a goverment position and it was her job to aid the canadian prime minister.
His job entials many things one of which is to deal with other nation leaders.
In this capacity he represents his nation and can not indulge his personal feelings but most present a professional presence that is conducive of his office.
As the prime ministers aid the person in question when speaking in public is a reflexion of her bosses views which in turn represents
the Canadian goverment and people.
No matter ones personal feelings to take it upon oneself to publicly insult the the leader of your countrys closes neighbors and largest trading partner is not only unwise but unprofessional.
It certainly warrents dismissal.

Sorry della but the interview I watched with hans blix he stated there were some 'unexplained' omissions on the Iraqi declaration. That these were worrysum and left doubt as to the compliance of Iraq that it had destroyed all WMD and research.
He stated when the inspectors brought this up the Iraqi's then stated verbally those in question had been destroyed.
He than went on to say that with out physical evidence or independent cooberation it would leave doubtas to there fate.

Far away look, sighs... One can only wish. But the he** of it is, Dick Cheney would replace him! He's bad *and* cunning! (They call him Dubya's brain.)
PS - Who remembers 'The President's brain is missing?'

>Ooh, ooh, can *we* perform regime change on the USA? Please?<
You certainly can Della. In 2004, only catch you have to be a US citizen.
Then agian you could start up a little propagander web site like *Net free New Zealand* and your very own little remove Bush campaign.
All you need is a catchy slogan. Say * Out the door - In 2-O-4*
If the US is at war at the time you could even join history: Tokeyo Rose, Hanoi Jane and now * New {zealand} Della*
