How do I know what model my digibox is...all it has on the fron are a few relevent buttons a PACE logo and a telewestdigital logo .
I dare go round the back...too dusty and lots of monster there

Looking at the digibox would certainly be the most direct way of finding out. An alternative would be to bring up any diagnostic screen menu thingy it might have where it boasts about what version it is. The way manda and loup are carrying on with testing of smileys and links though, they may soon be able to tell you precisely which model and memory you have just by the pages you can and can't see.

The best way to see what model box you have is to read the label that's attached to the bottom. The only significant differences between all four models is plug-ins for "future" use.

That's because you'd already refused to look there.
So I was considering other options.
I did rule out telling you to read the manual because people seldom get them, keep them or read them. Even when people do have a manual often it is not the right one, ie specific to the particular gadget you've bought, but is a general one for the whole product range.

Xian: It's the 1000 series then, the oldest model, like mine.
SEF: They don't give you manuals with the box. It's like they don't want you knowing too much about it.

I have a manual it was given by the installation men, and it has instructions about...a panasonic set top box....
Can still not figure that one out !

hehe.. good one... so typical of them..
they had to replace the "new" one two days after it was installed... the screen was freezing while watching TV..
the old one is stil going without any problems [well relatively speaking of course..] kinda
talk soon everyone..

Thing is I don't know why a manual [if there actually really is one] ever would be needed, the box is so easy to use, instructions would probably confuse .
I'll be fair, telepest customer service is good, the repair men come out within a day or two of a call...trouble is they don't do it right and they have to come back out again...and again...and so on...until you wait 4 WEEKS for a blooming replacement
Key: Complain about this post
