Hallo Stephen,

you just caught me before I go to bed (it is almost midnight again).

My real name is Tina. (or acutally Martina, abbreviated to Tina since my first visit to England).
Matodemi is an addition of the beginnings of the names here in my family.

As for the email adress, please use matodemi1 at web dot de - I will answer from there.

Hope you have a nice day

smiley - sorry Tina for not replying sooner. I have been a little but busy, and I have received an offer to teach at our local Technical College next year...smiley - smiley I will be teaching Metallurgy, if all goes well, and that means no more factory work and travel on work business for me..The salary is excellent and the benefits are even better..smiley - biggrin

I really should not tell you these things as I may seem to be a snobbish person, when really I am no different to anyone else...so I can talk to you about it...smiley - blush

How are your children? Are they at school or college? And more important, how are you and is everything fine for you there?

smiley - cheers

Stephen xx

Hallo Stephen smiley - biggrin,

that sounds great about your job.
I always like it when people can do a job they love. And if the salary is good - the better.

My children are
male 18 - in apprenticeship as , how to write it in English?, doing repairs of tvs and dvd-players/recorders and things like that

male 17 - school, wants to start apprenticeship as mechanic next year (hopefully he gets a job)

female 13 - school, cute, lovely and of course a real teenager

I am fine, started on a real job this month, even if it is only a few hours a week I am happy about that opportunity, it might get more in hours next year, or at least I will have more of a chance to find another one when being on a job.

Hope you are having a nice day

Tina

Hello Tina, how are you? This may seem smiley - silly but all of the people here from Germany migrated here because Australia needed people with Technical skills at that time..smiley - smiley Now you have verified this, because your boys are both technically minded...smiley - biggrin

And I would not be surprised, Tina, if your daughter becomes a smiley - nurse or a smiley - doctor because all German Ladies I have met are so caring and nurturing....smiley - blush And you are no different...smiley - loveblush

smiley - sorry but may I just send you a smiley - hug and a smiley - smooch...

Hallo Stephen,

I hope you are fine.
Yes, my boys are technically minded, but also my daughter is (+ she likes caring for people and cooking/baking).
I do care as well, but in a different way. Not the nurse or social worker like way.

Germany has made a mistake to let too many people go, no engineers are needed badly. The companies did sack to many older ones, and now they complain about missing specialists.

Had slightly bad news today, my daugher has to go to hospital. Her tonsils are infected for the 5th or 6th time this year (if it wasn't more) and this last infection lasts already for almost 3 weeks, so they have to be taken out. I have to try to get a date in hospital now. Nothing really to be anxious about, but not nice.

Tmw is work again - which I like but have mixed feelings. What I have to do is good, but the place is still - I cannot really explain, I am not sure yet if I like it or not, or am liked or not. Kind of weird.

Have a nice day

Tina

Helo Tina..smiley - smiley I am smiley - sorry to hear about your daughter but at least she is in the best of hands...Between you and the smiley - nurses and the smiley - doctors I mean...smiley - blush

I don't know what happens in German hospitals, but in Australia, when a child has tonsils removed, they are given Ice Cream when they wake up...smiley - magic I wish I had tonsilitis, but they would probably give me an smiley - ale and a cigarette instead of Ice Cream...smiley - laugh

smiley - cheers

Stephen....and I think I...smiley - erm..best say nothing here...smiley - blush

Hallo Stephen,

they certainly won't give you a cigarette after that operation *biggrin*

They do give icecream here in Germany, too - have done so when I was 8 years of age and still do. That is what she is looking forward to.

I am off to work soon, see you later smiley - smiley

Roast Pork and Vegetables and Red Cabbage????...smiley - rofl...Next time I get the flu I will come to Dusseldorf and be fed Filet Mignon!

Filet Mignon?
Sorry, I don't have the recipe - what about a homemade Pizza or Lasagne?

If my daughter wants icecream, she only has to ask - at the moment she is trying to convince me I had to by some, so she can get used to it (did I tell you my kids are intelligent smiley - winkeye)

Just warn me before you come to Germany, my appartment is a chaos at the moment smiley - winkeye

smiley - hug

Tina, Lasagne woill be fine with me...smiley - smiley Filet Mignon is basically a piece of Scotch fillet steak, wrapped with bacon, and is so tender....like you I must say.....smiley - blush
I am not surprised your children are intelligent. They have obviously inherited your genes...smiley - smiley
How is work going, and do you enjoy your new job? Don't worry about your apartment being in chaos. You have children, and chaos is their middle name...smiley - rofl

Stephen..xx

Post 36

matodemi

I have to correct you Stephen, not my children's middle name is chaos, but mine is smiley - erm

As for steaks, I love them, and filet steaks especially, but since I am surrounded by kids who love their meat well done I lost my ability to do a proper medium piece *sigh*

The kids are especially intelligent went it is needed for avoiding work (household), getting advantages (mom you are just great "what do you want or what have you done?") and things like that (I actually like that, my mom doesn't and complains when my daughter turns up with excuses for not doing what was expected).

Work is okay, not more, not less. And I will have to look for another next year anyway, it is about time my work pays my expenses and I am fed up to live on the social service.

Tina, I love cooking but I am not an expert like the chefs on tv. My favourite meals are on a BBQ. I cook sausages, steak, onions, eggs, rissoles, etc on the BBQ. I also make my own Potato Salad, which Edith, my stepmum, taught me to make from an old German recipe. I can also do housework, washing, ironing etc. I know, I am a man and not supposed to know these things....smiley - laugh, but I came from a big family and everyone had to help Mum and Dad...smiley - biggrin

Stephen, I never understood the fuss about "male work" or "female work". That is due to the fact that my father knew how to do all these things, and when my mum was at work did them (only theory wouldn't have been helpful).
So also my sons do have to do their share of homework.
As for cooking, I know a lot of men who can do that, and no less tasty than women do (some even better).

I don't like housework, except cooking, and I don't mind ironing. As for the rest, I would love someone else to take over smiley - smiley

if I could afford a housekeeper I wouldn't have to worry about the chaos here
you wouldn't even have a room to yourself, no salary, no car, but my Lasagne is really good smiley - biggrin
