#11: Effects of Shadow

This photo comes from the h2g2 Post's collection of submissions to Create's November project. We'll be posting a photo a day for the month of November.
Effects of Shadow
This photo is more about forms than objects. It's designed to make you think.
What it says to me is that light needs shadow to tell its story. Cover up the bottom half of the picture: what you have is a table in sunlight. Uncover the bottom half: you discover features in the pattern you may not have noticed. The pattern is revealed by the shadow.
I happen to know that Cactuscafe appreciates the poetry of Leonard Cohen, as do I. This photo reminds me of some lines from 'Anthem':
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
See? We can do 'deep' around here.
