It is an amazing place I visited in 1994 (unfortunately my pictures are all prints so I can't post them). It is worth noting have heavily reconstructed it is I have a copy of Percy Fawcett's (one of the great Edwardian eccentrics) 1924 Exploration Fawcett which has a photograph showing Tiahuanaco as a jumble of stones and describes it as tumbled ruins. Fawcett claimed it was "the remains of the most ancient buildings in existence, pre-dating the rise of the Andes"
