Hmmm, I'm one of Jordan's greatest apologists but even I think that sod all happens in CoT.
I enjoyed the scenes with Mat and Tuon though.
He's going to lose even more fans with this book though I reckon. I'm resigned to sticking it to the end myself still though - if he doesn't die before that happens of course.

I shouldn't slag it off too much, I got the book when I was ill off work last Wednesday and I had finished it by Friday evening.
2 1/2 days for nearly 700 pages is not the sign of a terrible book.
I do think the series is too much of a soap opera these days though, it was never like that in the first six volumes.

Oh and he is on record as saying that there are only 2 more books to go.
It seems the pace better quicken significantly for that to happen though. I shall believe it when I see it.
Anyway, since the last book came out I've busied myself reading the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I'm on the last one at the moment, they are fantastic

to stick my humble opinion in. i agree with pretty much everyone that the books have slowed down as the series progresses. but since each book takes, at the most, a week for me to read the pace never seems that slow. and since RJ makes me WANT to read them in under a week i think they're still good books. having said that, i haven't read the 10th book and have heard pretty awful things about it.
Key: Complain about this post
