Acording to an anouncment he made on the 25th of March, Robert Jordan has a medical condition that he is going to go in for treatment which could potentialy keep him from completeing the series...I like the fact that he kept his word and updated the fans...Hopefully the treatment will be sucsessfull and he can continue writeing...not just to complete the series, but because it is clearly something he enjoys

To be specific, he has a case of amyloidosis (a blood disease) with an additional complication whose name escapes me.
This means he has a life expectancy of about four years, though Jordan himself intends to live for another 30 by the miracle of chemotherapy.
I hope he pulls through.
