A Conversation for The Answer To The Ultimate Question Of Life, The Universe, And Everything
What's in a name?
Pelbow Posted May 29, 1999
A crysanthemum by any other name would be a lot easier to spell.

my heart, my life, my soul, my mind, my all, their collective worth, my locker number (67) take away 25.
My heart, my life, my soul, my mind and my all are worth slightly less that an Altarian Dollar in England, Earth on a cold, dry, crisp morning with no shops or possibility of going shopping to spend it.
Zaphara Beeblebrox being as deep as ever a Beeblebrox ever went.

Book of Revelations KJV - 13:17-18
"And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."
Nothing personal, but I just prefer talking to people who don't have numbers in their name. It's a superstition with me, I guess you could say.

My house number.
Trillian: Hey Zaphod! What do you think of these strange symbols on the wall??
Zaphod: I think their strange symbols of some kind.
Waiter: Your monkey has got it right!

I don't want to see the monkey! I want my mommy! I want my daddy! I want my spaceship! I think I'll just sit in a corner and throw stones at people, Random-style (ooooooh, I HATE Random Frequent Flyer Dent).

Where's Random when you really need her? I think a catfight between Zaphara and Random would be really zarquonistic! Unfortunately, Random ceased to exist at the end of Mostly Harmless.
I'm working on writing the sixth book to the Hitch Hiker Trilogy. I could really use some help.
And quit touching my monkey!

I can bruise my upper arm just as well as anybody with a name. Why discriminate against those who haven't been playing this game long enough to figure out how to change a name to a number? Being a number is a perfectly normal part of being an Earthling.
Apart from that: the answer is 42 and we have know the right question. 6x7 isn't a question. So to narrow things down a bit, you have to ask questions like - What is 42? Where is 42? How is 42? Can 42? What is the point of 42? Then, when you have been disconnected by your ISP 42 times, you can ponder whether the mice already know and we have all been wasting our time anyway.

Maybe I was so caught up in hating Mostly Harmless I didn't notice, 'coz I thought she was still alive. She thinks she's still alive, too, but for how much longer..............

Try writing some columns of numbers next to each other.
The first one in binery, the second one as usual and the third one in hex. Quite cool when you hit the spot...
