three cheers ureka yes, and yes the missing or as I now think of it the mythical reply button is very much trouble, makes it very hard to talk to or reply to good folk as yourself, thanks a lot, enjoying pond already. croak croak....

I'm glad that worked, now we have to train everyone you want to talk to to do the same.

er, no I have been puting it at end of conversations I have like this one, thinks ME got wrong idea? I am also now having a prob, getting some replys, I think it might be if it goes on too long, ie; too many individual posting? then I cant them to load any other way I might be able to get them? jo.

I cannot go through all your conversations to find this missing link. What is the name of the conversation where you tried it?

Provided that your link starts with http://www.bbc.co.uk , it should automatically show up as a link.

Make sure the colon and the two forward slashes are typed accurately. Perhaps they don't show up too clearly on your screen.

As for long threads, I think the problem is the speed of your connection. Moan at your cable company.

Try loading longer threads at quiet times.

This is the thread where Jofrog tried to put the link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F74628?thread=136308 I have tried to reply to Jofrog myself , although I'm not a Guru , I am a researcher who used web TV myself and noticed Jofrog having problems. I usually just lurk here. I didn't use the NTL cable TV internet and never had the "not seeing the reply button" problem. I could see all the buttons , just not the writing on them. I couldn't follow any links where a conversation went to more than 20 posts though , however quiet the time. It does seem odd that the "discuss this entry" and "discuss this journal" buttons work but not the "reply" button though.

You can modifay the URL to skip and show. e.g. http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F69022?thread=136532&skip=10&show=10 will show this thread from post ten onwards. But I suspect this is not feasible for a WebTV user. It would need someone on a PC or Mac to come along and set up a suitable link on behalf of the WebTV user.
