5 Most Overlooked!
Shea the Sarcastic Started conversation Mar 22, 2001
Since this just came up as one of the "5 Most Overlooked" conversations, I thought I would post here. I hate looking bad! And I hate for my home to be "overlooked"! This is just tragic ...
5 Most Overlooked!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Mar 22, 2001
Oh no! It's still up there! Does this mean I have to spend every waking minute posting here?! Oh, the humanity!

I mean, whatever happened to that "Learning to Speak Klingon" that was always up in the 5 Most Overlooked? Has that been zapped by the ?

"Shea there, you with the stars in your eyes..."
*decides that will do thank you*
I really liked your article. Long Island was always where the characters in TV shows and movies lived if they were big ad execs or something so I always had an image of rich suburbia. I think I saw a picture once of John lennon's 'little place' on the coast there somewhere. So it was nice to get your 'coney island' point of view.
Now don't take that the wrong way I mean to me Coney Island is people and hotdogs and public beaches - until I read your article it never occurred to me there were any 'public' beaches on Long Island. But you say there're miles of them and public parks - well I didn't know - I thought it was upper class suburbia all the way to the Hamptons. *hopes an old surf music reference will divert attention as he slips his other foot into the other side of his mouth* I mean not 'like' coney island - that's Jersey fergodsake - another world, right.

Just realised I was going to prattle on for a while so I thought I should break up the prattle into several entries and get you off the most overlooked list... But wait, any publicity is good publicity.
I remember you said... oh wait

I remember you said it was there the day h2g2 re-opened but I couldn'y log on for a while and I missed it on the front page.
In all the excrement - I mean excitement , that's been going on with all this moderation crap it slipped out...

...of my mind.
Thank god, no on else remembered! Because it ended up on the Front Page again. And any publicity is go .. wait why am I telling you this.

Now this Arrem Lowlander (sounds like a German girl's dream come true doesn't it) seemed to like it. He trod in like a centipedic footnote and listed ten things you missed. Kept referring you to the 'paper' you work for ...nice touch. He sure seemed to know his Long Island.

I'm not sure if you really want all these postings to get you ...(I was gonna say 'underlooked' as the opposite of 'overlooked' but it doesn't work that way does it?)
But I better shut up for a while so you can stay on the Front Page.
Oh - btw - that other thread - the one for Peregrin - where I may or may not have said something that you may or may not have taken as an offer to do your feet - about which I can say nothing more until I've talked to my lawyers - because America is such a litigious (sp?) place and they say I should really ask for pictures of said feet - but when I showed them the green witch picture they told me to avoid further contact altogether. ...altogether ..alto ..gether
*Altogether now, we all all live on a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, a yell...*

?T ??Johnny, Johnny ... what can I say? I'm deeply touched that you would be so kind as to help drag me out of the muck and mire of "5 Most Overlooked" land! And it's off the front page again, so I thank you!
Now to answer a few points:
>So it was nice to get your 'coney island' point of view.
I've never been to Coney Island (since that's in "the City"), I think I know what you mean, and I couldn't possibly take anything you say the "wrong way"!
>I thought it was upper class suburbia all the way to the
>Hamptons.
Some of it is - definitely along the coast. I personally live in a good old-fashioned middle-class working neighborhood. Of course, I live on the wrong side of Montauk Highway. About a 1/2 mile south of here, the houses are "upper middle class suburbia", and a 1/2 mile south of there, you've got your modern beach house, which is "upper class suburbia". Ain't America grand?

I detect a decided fecal tone to this particular post...
And do be careful slipping with all the moderation crap around, you don't want to hurt yourself.

I visited his Space. That was his first and only post on H2G2. I feel special ... But he does know Long Island!
And what's with the German girl crack (boy, that doesn't sound good, does it)? Long Islanders are Lowlanders! We needed to get flood insurance in my last apartment, and got in touch with the town to find out our "vital statistics" - we were all of 13' above sea level!

Don't worry, my name's not Sue!
And how do you know that green witch picture is me?

Yo! I'll comment and reply to your entries later. Right now I'm concerned this thread was not on your home page and there seemed to be no conversations at the bottom of your Long Island article even though this conversation, which I finally found on my homepage list of threads, is headed as being part of the Long Island conversation...
Now I may have missed it on your homepage but... but... there were literally Zero listed at the bottom of the article. Hmmm. Oh I put one there just now asking this same question...
*more response to your postings later - I'm on a mission*

Oh, OK I found it now because my last entry lifted it to the top of your conversation list...
But where is Lowlanders?
Oh, OK, I guess I missed the low land long island thing. I just assumed it was a high german / low german thing and what with a name like Arrmen Lowlander it seemed .. well to tell ya the truth ..what with all the references to your workplace .. and the massive update of details and items 'he' felt you left out of your article ...well I thought maybe you had logged on as someone else (aka Lowlander) and added all the stuff you never got a chance to put in during the great detour which never gave you a chance to rework the piece between your submission just before h2g2 went AWOL and the day they came back with your article on the front page. (I'm running on... must breathe...)

How do I know the green witch picture is you?
Uhm... you said it was.
Or am I just being gullible.
My picture in the yahooprofile is me, so I guess I figger everybody else would... AAaarrrgh! I am gullible aren't I.
But then, if I never suspect that sort of thing, why would I suspect you are really Arrem Lowlander...?

Shea the Sarcastic Posted Mar 23, 2001
Oh, you remembered I said that, huh? Oh, okay, it was me ... I usually look a little healthier than that, though ... and my feet aren't green, I promise.
And I didn't think that pic on Yahoo was you, so does that make me cynical? I thought I was the gullible one ... that's what everyone tells me anyway ...
And you never know, I could be Arrem Lowlander, but then again if I went around replying to my own Entries it would seem a little schizo ... but I could be, and not know it, right? I guess so, but I'd need another opinion ... I think you'd know, because you'd have messages to yourself on your answering machine, right? Well, not necessarily ...
Sorry, we'll go now...
