thank you so much for reminding me about this wonderful drink. I used to drink it regularly when I was young and in Zimbabwe, and until I went to live in South Africa

I shall go out today with my carer and buy an applicance like the one I had, and then hey presto, I shall be able to see again, I shall be able to ... well live extremely healthily again. !!

Grazia; Merci; thank you so much!

Hi Traveller in time and the carrot "KING"

We went out searching yesterday and there was absolutely nothing on sale that reminded me of the way I used to extract the juice when I used to drink it every day.

I came back from the search and looked on the internet. The most reasonable one was £150.00. I wonder what else I could use. I suppose that is very reasonable for saving one's eyesight Here is hoping that I shall be able to find what I had before.

I wonder (thinking aloud) if I grated the carrots and then liquidised them and then passed them through a fine butter musline squeezing all the time? Perhaps that would be an idea. !!

Nice to have your news again Traveller in time, and thank you for replying Mr. Carrot King. !

Regards.

If you already have a blender in the kitchen, try that first. Cut the carrots into smaller pieces and put them in the blender. You will have to blend for a few seconds, then push the carrots down with a wooden spoon, blend again, push down, blend again... until the carrots are well pulped. Then squeeze through muslin.

When I say squeeze, I really mean wring - you can apply much more pressure by wringing.

Let me know how this works for you - I'll be happy to help smiley - smiley

Hi my friends,

Producing orange juice,

Thank you for the suggestions. I think I shall have to get someone to wring it out for me as really the older I get I am so pathetically weak and feeble. Even opening tins now is an effort. anyway, I shall try cutting the carrots into small pieces and then liquidising them. If the worst comes to the worst I shall go into a juicer shop and see how they do it. There must be something - I remember that I had one in Africa. Truly I wonder when I did start "losing" my memory. I am sure that it must have been before the global stroke in November 2008 as I remember how well I felt with the carrot juice. !!

well I shall let you know the result of my trying to get juice from a carrot. !!

Go well,

Christiane
