Well, I also think that Dune is a classic film. My favourite scene is the speach by Leto while still on their home planet.
'But a person needs new experiences .. they stir something deep inside, allowing them to grow'
'Without change, something sleeps inside us'
A classic film !!!!

Also, I saw your post on peer review regarding my article on the Lord Of The Rings animated version. What are your favourite scenes. Also, do you agree with me that John Hurts portrayel of Aragorn is the best voice over ever ?

I'm glad you and I have a similar taste in films - my next film article is likely to be on King Kong, so what do you think about that film?
But you're right, "Dune" is definately a classic, and although it is shorter than the recent TV series, in the film all the scenes are much more dramatic, and you feel as if something is really happening, which you don't in the series.
As for "The Lord Of The Rings: Part One", sadly it is not a film I own on video, although I have seen it many times, but not in recent years. From what I remember, the scenes with the Orcs, especially Gandalf and the Balrog, where among my favourites as the way the Orcs had been drawn fascinated me.
I also loved the "There is an inn, a merry ___ inn, beneath an old green hill" song and dance. I'm hoping that the film will be re-released on video when Peter Jackson's film version is released.
