Did that actually belong in the text? It's so long since I did trig that things may have changed.

Also we used a simple plastic tool (I only know the dutch name for it) to draw a corner of any number of degree's (or radians). Complete it to a triangle and use a ruler to get sine, cosine and tangent.

If that tool is a plastic semi-circle, then the English word for it is protractor (the corner drawing tool).
