I found a fantastic cure for inchy dread head.
add rosemary oil to water, put it in a sprayer bottle.
shake and spray scalp.
But, if it's the dreaded louse then poroxide the buggers.

I use rosemary on my dreads to freshen them up, especially if I've been around a lot of smokers, or other smelly places.
My head only itches when I tighten my dreads too much. It's ok if I leave an inch or so at the roots.

Hi Linda, yeah i've noticed that too when tightening and if they get wet and then it's hot, nightmare. I use all sorts of oils to make them smell nicer!!! Do you wash them? sound bad dosen't it but mine get in a right state when i wash them, so i've stopped now.

I was told not to wash them until I'd had them a year, but I was too nervous and waited 18 months. And then I only washed them because I had a Very Important Job Interview in January. (For this job. )
I've got a spray that's is really for braided hair, but it works for dreads. I spray that on, then rinse in water, rosemary and salt. I think I've washed them once since then.
People do ask me if I wash them, and when I say no, they ask if it gets disgusting. I tell them that they can tell better than me, as they're looking at it!
