A Conversation for Pub Quiz Tactics

I used to play a pub quiz regularly and had a tactic of asking people for random quiz answers by SMS before the quiz started in case I didn't know the answer to a question. One week 2 of the answers were actually correct. A typical SMS would read something like, "1963, blue, octopus, Kremlin, basketball, peanut, IBM, Lenin."
We would also write William Shatner as an answer for any question where we didn't have a clue.
You can see that we took it very seriously.
