Ohhhh my goodness he's just amazingly funny.
We don't get Bottom here in the states and it makes me very angry so I'll just have to move to London.
Hmph. Glad that's decided.
That and I can't live without my Ali G. 'Nuff respect.

I wonder if they have "Filthy, Rich & Catflap" on video? That was kind of like Bottom, except Rik's character was an unemployed actor, and it had Nigel Planer (Neil in The Young Ones) as Rik's tubercular manager.
I remember some great bits from that...

Filthy, Rich & Catflap was vastly superior to Bottom, as the jokes were better, and there was still the general stupidity of slapstick. (Hence the Benny Hill music when they were running around the flat once.) I have been told it is available on video, but I still have them all on tape from when they were on TV. And it is bloody hilarious, in fact I think I'll go and watch it now.

Mr Jolly Lives Next Door.
I've only read the script, never seen it, and that's a real shame. But I'm moving to London! I'll see it next year!

This is an EXCELLENT film ,and can't be fully appreciated from a script, the humour is too visual. I can't recommend this film enough, it has the classic line in it: "I wish I hadn't s**t my pants". Plus their mad driving around the streets of London. I envy you watching it for the first time, enjoy when you get the chance!

There's not much to tell, apart from the fact it was years ago and I can't remember it very well. But he's very lovely. I cried when he fell off his quadbike and hurt his head. My mum and brother hadn't told me as they knew I would be upset, and I saw it on teletext about 3 days later. I bawled my eyes out to my caring but totally bewildered boyfriend of the time.

I know. I was so worried when I read about it. I can't believe he's pretty much recovered. *knocks on wood*
Well, tell me as much of the story as you remember. I'm going to live vicariously through you for a moment.

I'd just like to add that Peter Cook is wonderful as Mr Jolly in *Mr Jolly Lives Next Door*. In fact, I'd just like to add that Peter Cook is wonderful.

I do apologise but you are seriously deluded if you think FR&C is in anyway superior to the king of Comedy shows, 'Bottom'. Nothing is funnier, wittier or as violently hilarious. Both Rik and Ade are extremly funny individuals and when they work as a team there is no better comic team.

I don't see anything witty about random acts of violence.

bottom is easily one of the best comedt shows the violence doesnt come into it their witty put downs put lord blackaddders to shame the insults verge on poetic and eddie is a role model for many
who can forget such lines as "choose me choose me im a love albatross"
eddie: "well just another day in my kitchen i hope nothing hilariously bad happens"
richie: "oh diedre"
eddie: "yes darling"
*a dart hits eddie in the forehead*
eddie: "oww"
*eddie tips boiling fat onto himself*
eddie: "oh i appear to have tipped boiling fat onto myself, i do hope i dont catch fire 'matches matches'"
*eddie puts a match to his apron covered in oil, and sets on fire*
eddie: "oh no im on fire and someones left the window open"
*eddie turns to the window*
eddie: " oh well the window isnt open, well i hope i dont fall out of it anyway"
*eddie jumps through the window*

Nope. Blackadder would win a battle of wits any day. Bottom is unarmed!
