Let's forget about the bad parties, let's not spend thoughts on them. They are all over and the next will come very soon, because of what you mentioned, and what the Germans call "Ausgehzwang".
Sweden got it's first Goldmedal! Pia everywhere!
So long, vi hörs

Correction, Jonas...
Sweden just got it's ONLY gold medal.
True that the bad parties are nothing but a fading memory. Still, they kinda suck when you're there yourself.

But now Sweden gots the first swimmingmedal in a womenscontest since 40 years (100m freestyle), and the winner is, SUPRISE: Miriam, not her but a girl from the Netherlands, and the Netherlands are far before Germany in the olympic ranking. I wouldnt give a damn if I were home, but here, I am happy when Bayern Muenchen winns against Helsinborg.
Strange!

How many medals do Sweden have now? They got one in the 4x100 relay for women, right? A bronze. And then the clay pigeon shooting gold medal. Did they get another one as well?
Funny to see that if you watch the UK coverage, the UK athletes are the only ones that are actually any good. And I guess it's the same in every country in the world, but still. Pretty funny.
Everything in the olympics coverage here has so far revolved around the rowing and the swimming, where they think that the Brits have the best chance of getting medals.
Oh well, they end in a week or two, so it won't be too bad...

Netherlands: ranking -6
6 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze
Germany: ranking -11
3 gold, 5 silver, 7 bronze
Sweden: ranking -12
3 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze
You see, it has been 10 years since now when the wall came down, and all those welldoped GDR sportsmen and women ruled the scene. These times are gone, happy times when we could win many glod medals and Rudi Völler shot two goals against Holland in the EM in one match.
But hej, I know a German goldmedal winner: Rowing, 8-boat, 1996.
By the way, UK - rank 14 (less gold then Sweden!!!)
See you later, have a nice and rich weekend...

Hey, there is something different to discuss. I just have Contact with an norweyab guy who will make it to Newzealand after X-mas (intends to study there). We think it would be a good idea to design a Lost-children-page about people living in foreign countries and there experiences there. What do you think? Should we start a little Projekt??? Do you have time to spend on it?
hot for action jj

Well, for the time being, I have pretty much time on my hands.. At least unless I have to log the mails coming ito our mailbox.
I'm not entirely sure where she is, but there was also an Irish lass, studying in Germany that called herself "Lost in Germany" a while back..
Project sounds interesting...
BTW I just found out today, after about 3 months of talking in this thread, what the subject line means.. Guess I should have taken French classes in school.

justus jonas Posted Sep 25, 2000
Are you takeing french lessons, or did you simply asked someone, or how did you translate the subject line (bable fish??? where did you get it, must have it too!!!).
But you see - you are not alone lost in the big world. There is a whole Legion of the Lost just around you!!!
The projekt shouldn't be so much work, you are right - then it wouldn't be funny...
see you jj

I'll help... so what were you thinking of doing?
I just wasted my entire afternoon at the dentist's... AARGH! First of all I hate our dentist, second it only took 5 minutes with me but I had to wait another hour before my mom was finished, third I'm tired, I've headache and a wisdom tooth that's coming through which hurts like hell and can't stand having wasted my entire afternoon....
*sigh*
I'm alright

I simply asked my Team Leader here at work as she knows French. Funny to think that I haven't bothered checking what the subject meant for so long a time. I mean, "lettres" looks pretty much like "letters" and "enfants" looks like "infants" so something "children's letter" sounded reasonable.
Anyhow, speak of the devil, as they say. I told you about Lost in Germany the other day, and when I checked my conversations today, I found that she had returned after a couple of months abscense. Funny, isn't it?
Sorry to hear about your visit to the dentist, Miriam. I hate when that happens.. I have spent too much time at dentists to last me a lifetime.

Well, i enjoyed my last visites at the Dentist.
WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY, TWISTED - BOTH? do jo shout out, but wait...
No, no. I see that normaly it isn't the funnsíest thing to do (give the dentist a visite) but A very good friend of mine is dentist, and he took excellent care of me! I really felt save knowing i get the best treatment - that even money can't buy.
Lost in Germany? Funny...
Projekt:
--------
Main Idea: Creation of a place where people can share their experiences with different culturs without prejudice.
Aim: gather interesting and exiting information in the forums...
The page should contain links to Articles concerning the single Countries. (This JAR-dude had some quick ideas).
hmmm, have to think

(yes, I know what it means..)

I know, jonas.
I found it rather peculiar as well, that she named herself pretty much the same as myself. She's looking for a new name now, though, since she's in Ireland at the present. But still.
I don't 'mind' going to the dentist, I just think I've been so many times that I don't feel like it. I go when they tell me to go, but other than that, I don't bother. That doesn't mean that my teeth are rotting away, or anything though, it's just that I don't feel like going.
Project outlines looks good, JJ. Keep thinking, and I'll back you up.

I thought enough about the projekt, now it is time to go!
Perhaps I will write something over the weekend, but I dont't know really. The fact is I caught a cold, and I'm feeling not so fine.

Poor JJ... hope you feel better soon..
Going back to the topic of bad parties, we had a party from school thursday night, for the classes who are doing their exams this year, and surprisingly it wasn't all that bad... I actually had a pretty good time.... which is quite amazing since I'm not much of a party person....
One party I truly enjoyed was at the last evening of camp in Holland this summer... I spent the whole night dancing and it was just really cool...
What was the point of me saying this? I don't have a clue either!
Greetings,
Miriam

Isn't it strange the way people change during the course of an evening of partying?
A couple of colleagues had a party saturday night, and there were a bunch of people there, and it wasn't too bad. But the later it got, the more people developed their personal little quirks..
For instance, one of the guys needed to turn the volume on the stereo up really loud, even though the neighbours had actually been there to ask us to turn it down a couple of times, and even threatened to call the police, another one developed somewhat of a drinking depression of sorts, making him wanting to drink more and more and more, some people was more or less stationary outside (since there was a no smoking policy inside) and they only came in when they needed more to drink, and some people got into really weird discussions that in soberness would make no sense whatsoever.
And I have no idea why this has anything to do with anything else, I just wanted to share..
JJ, hope you get well soon from the cold...

Hej everbody!
I'm fine, thank you for careing about my health so much. The only thing wich makes me sad is, that they sell in Sweden no ACC recepefree, so I had some problems with sleeping the last nights (coughing).
This weekend i avoided all bad parties by just not visitig them. No! I had it really quiet with Sauna, drinking light beer, walking around the city, drinking coffee, talking all the time.
But after I finished here I will drop by the "austrian (bad)party" on the campus: Schnitzel and Forst-beer? Hope so.
Mörkret kryps över landskapet, solen saknas, vinter dunkar på dören. Say LIS, who is more far in the North, me or you?
So have a nice day, and tell me what's going on, I'll be back soon...

Good to hear that you're feeling better, JJ.
I would say that you're a bit further north than I am. I think that I'm on about the same latitude as Karlskrona, so you're about a five hour car-ride south of me.
Sauna sounds nice. I wish they had a sauna around here somewhere.
Hope you had a good evening at the Austrian party last night.
Gotta go look busy or something at work... Sayonara.
