Just look at the invisiClues hints. They'll give you just enough hints for you to figure it out yourself. The clues get progressively more revealing until they tell you exactly how to solve a puzzle.

Unfortunately, you can't save your game, which means it will be almost impossible to play it, since some puzzles require a trial-and-error solution.

Help I went on to all of the links and when i downloaded the game it was an unknone file! what do i do with it?

Ah, you will need a program to interpret the file. The one I use is called winFrotz and you can download it from the Interactive Fiction Archive here:

Part way down that page is the link for "WinFrotzR53.zip" - download that.

And now for a little background. The game was written by a company called Infocom at a time when the only kind of games were text games - i.e. games where there are no graphics, and you interact with the computer via text. They invented their own text interpreter which was far superior to anything else at the time. At the time, the game would just run on your computer, but now, with modern computers, you need a new interpreter for it. Luckily, someone has written one called Frotz (which was named after a magic spell in another Infocom game) and there is a version of Frotz that runs under Windows (called WinFrotz). Frotz allows you to play any of the infocom games on your modern computer.

Another note: that site I sent you to in order to download frotz - the Interactive Fiction Archive - is a repository of all modern text games and related things. That's right, I said MODERN text games. There is a community that is still writing text games and they have produced some excellent ones. There is a competition every year, too. All of the games are freeware and there are tons of them and they are all available on that site, along with documentation and solutions and interpreters and everything else you would need (there have been several other interpreters written and people have written games using those systems, but it is easy enough to download the appropriate interpreter). WinFrotz will play any game written using the Infocom interpreter, or the modern equivalent called Inform.

Anyway, I'd love to know how you make out with the game. The babblefish puzzle is one of my all-time favourite puzzles.
