If memory serves me correctly, London-in-Ontario offers the following attractions:
* Fine restaurants, including a Hungarian cafe with outdoor dining.
* Erotic dance halls (or strip joints, for the crasser patrons).
* A water park named "Wally World", which is the same name as the theme park from National Lampoon's Family Vacation. The park was even closed when I went there a week after Victoria Day, when summer attractions like water parks should be in full swing.

Well -- things to do in London, um .. well. Lie in bed wishing you were in Toronto
Actually you could go to school at the renoun Western University, but you need a blood alcohol level of at least .05 to get in.

Or you could lie in bed thanking some suitable deity that you weren't in Toronto
Or you could raise a family. It's a particularly good place for that. And the Univiersity is not quite so sodden as you make out. It is probably about the same as any other university.
London has quite a few festivals on summer weekends: Big Band Festival, Hot Air Balloon Festival, Rib Festival, Home County Folk Festival, Children's Festival, Sunfest, and others that aren't coming immediately to mind.
There are countless great restaurants and lots of pubs. If you like to shop, there are some big malls and downtown is making a comeback from some sorry days. There are also other shopping districts, like Richmond Row (shops along Richmond Street) and Wortley Village (a Village-like setting near downtown).
Oh yes, there is a pioneer village to visit along with a museum of Indian Archeology and a Children's Museum. There are also lots of parks and natural areas within the city - one is a northern-type bog (the most southerly of its type). The city is known as the Forest City and lives up to its name.

Good ol' London, it boasts of some of the very best Canada has to offer.
2 world class hospitals with outstanding physicians. UWO, the University of Western Ontario, and Fanshawe College. Outstanding runners, Rowers and Skaters. Christine Nesbitt is very close to #1 in longtrack in the world.
Not the most exciting city in which to live, but one of the most pleasant, safe and inexpensive. For excitement one can always go to Detroit and get mugged or Montreal and get run over by some speed demon.
All in all, what's not to like about London?
