Belgium is labouring under the misconception that it is a Country rather than the back yard of Europe.

That's quite a leap. That's what I love about about h2g2: There's always someone out there that feels the need to say something, anything (!) even if it's completely off topic. And if one can toss in a cheap, unsophisticated insult, so much the better. Wouldn't Mr. Adams be proud?

An insult can only be defined as an insult if it portrays an untruth or offends the person(s) it relates too.
Are you a Belgian?
Do you know any Belgians?
Have you ever met any Belgians?
Or drunk their beer?
Or eaten their chocolate?
Or dipped chips in their mayonaisse?

Now, I read the article but I must be too dim to see where likening Belgium to a trash receptacle has any relevance to the subject of the forum. But, of course, yes I'm sure no Belgian would take offense to that anyway, right? It's just in good humor, nothing personal and all that, ha, ha.
