All very well and good sticking up for the Bunnies but Garfunkel is still a wanker. All curly hair and breathy voice and cardigans. (Probably Rabbit Fluff Wool)
Which sad mis-fit seventies throw-back singers do the other h2g2 bods detest????

Shawn Cassidy makes my skin crawl. As I recall he did one horrible album some time around 1978.
A friend had his poster above her bed.
I still have flashbacks.

Aaagh, the evil link!
Actually it's kinda funny, but I get a feeling of "aw, lay off!" whenever I se or hear people wanting to kill rabbits.
Actually, me and a friend gave £1.50 and my name to this 'save the badgers man' thing we saw.
Bet you lot think I'm a hippy or something.

In my opinion if you're going to kill something, do something with it. Eat it, wear it, make certain its death serves a greater purpose than simple:
"Look at that BIG OLD DEER I JUST SHOT. Yeehaw!"
I have a friend whose husband has a trophy room. I call it the Hall of Death. A pronghorn antelope head, a bear head, a mounted fish, and a bear skin are the primary decorations.
I find it intensely macabre.
And yes, I am a Yank, hence the "yeehaw".
Around here (central Ohio) people have gun racks in their pickup trucks and special bright lights so they can hunt illegally. They drive through the countryside late at night and blind deer and raccoons with the bright lights, then shoot them one by one.
What sport is that?
But the Bambi and Bunny Killer pages appeal to my odd sense of humor.

You might want to blind and hunt those sorts of people. Illigaly.
Luckily I don't bother going to National Trust proporties so I don't see many Chamber Of Horrors.
I bought a copy of The Big Issue (a mag for raising money for the homeless) once. It is so depressing. Amongst the depressing things was a page of campaigns against animal cruelty. To help you make up your mind they included a picture of a monkey being jabbed in the eye and another picture of a mutilated monkey corpse. In b&w luckily.

Ah the ig-noble art of Lamping.
As was said, if you're going to kill it, do something with it (like eat it). Also give it a chance, get up, walk into IT's territory, and if you don't find anything so what at least there'll have been some exersise!

Yes, I quite agree. I'm actually a vegan but my hubby eats meat and while we lived in New Zealand, used to go spear fishing and brought fish home to eat which I didn't really mind (too much!) and I know he'd never kill anything for "sport". I even used to gut it for him so I could give the cats lots of scraps!

Ugh!
I eat a helluva lot of pork pies. I suppose my justification is that pigs are disgusting little things that make wierd noises.

They're in for a shock then.

Mike A (snowblind) Posted Feb 24, 2000
Still, if I see Ozzy Osbourne biting off -any- animal's head I'll kill him.
Bloody Rabbits...........
Phil Posted Feb 24, 2000
These day's he wouldn't be able to hold it well enough to do that.
He's all shot to pieces from the drugs and booze. Quite fortunate to still be alive and a remarkable testament to his wife Sharon who managed to get him straightend out.
Bloody Rabbits...........
Phil Posted Feb 24, 2000
Oh yes and I want to add that I don't condone the kind of behaviour stated in Mike A's post (just to make sure that's straight with you all)
Bloody Rabbits...........
Mike A (snowblind) Posted Feb 24, 2000
Can he still sing ok?
I mean he sounded alright on the albums but on that Live At Last I bought he sounds like a muppet.
Glad to hear he's ok though. People of his calibre are too good to waste (even if they do kill bats).
Bloody Rabbits...........
Phil Posted Feb 24, 2000
I can't remember what the singing was like, I saw him with a friend at the last Donnington. It was a co-headliner bill, Ozzy and Kiss. He certainly looked like he was enjoyng himself even if he couldn't run/jump/sing as well as he used to. I must say it was a good day out, but it's some time ago.

I got a review of Kiss in my copy of Metal Hammer. By an amazing coincidence, the caption was something like: "Kiss are superglued to the stage again", and it generally bemoaned a lack of action on their behalf.
Bit off-subject aren't we? I mean in a WD thread...
Bloody Rabbits...........
Phil Posted Feb 24, 2000
Well that's what conversations are about, the best bit come when they start going off the original topic
As for Kiss being glued to the stage, having at least one member taken up to a platform in the lights to spit fake blood, a guitarist who's guitar seems to shoot rockets and the biggest set of fireworks I'd seen up to that point, didn't count as lacking in action.
Even seeing them last year on their 3D tour was the same. The 3d did work as well, two cameras mounted side by side on a moving platform and the projected up onto big screens - Certainly different to the average stuff you get at a gig
bunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunny - is that enough mention of rabbits to bring this back on topic

*Gwennie sniffs haughtily at Mike A*
Pigs are wonderfully, inteligent beasts who like to roll in mud (and other things) to prevent sunburn and to keep cool.
They make lovely, affectionate pets too!
As for Ossie Osborne - he can take a running jump - if he's still capable. (Not because dislike his music, just him...)
Oh! I nearly forgot.... rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit......

Mike A (snowblind) Posted Feb 25, 2000
Wow...I was thinking of buying a Kiss CD...but they are so expensive where I live...and I'd spent most of my dough on a Black sabbath one...like I think I already said.
I saw Mike And The Mechanics live once...they were a laugh.
I still prefer rats and rabbits to pigs.

I think Ozzy Osborne is more of an animatronic than a muppet. Muppets are usually all cuddly. Ozzy looks like he's been stitched together out of old leather that's been stretched over bent pieces of wood.
Äs for KISS they still have quite a sound, but Gene looks like he has developed a passion for sweets.
People my age are now taking their kids to KISS concerts. I can just imagine:
"Dad, who's that fat guy with all the makeup on? Is that Divine?"
Speaking of loveable old transvestites, what ever happened to Dame Edna?
Key: Complain about this post
