In other words, it seems that nothing whatsoever had changed in the American high schools since I graduated back in '92. It just goes to show that Y follows X in more than just the alphabet. There's only one difference though. These idiots from "Generation Y" DO NOT KNOW HOW TO OPERATE A RECORD PLAYER!!!!

I disagree with that, much of my generation "y" listen to records quite constantly. About 2/3rds of my school all have record tables and listen to anything ranging from early 60's to today. You also can't forget about the dj's who also use "record tables." Overall I do agree with you on the fact that nothing has changed, mainly due to a stagnant culture/society, there has been no reason for the change, music is still following its predeccesors and well hell the problems are near the same.
