ThirdSection

Well, I've been here a while now, gone for long stretches of absences, but then I return, usually after several computer crashes and then I remember how much fun it was over here at h2g2, so I search for something I remember writing and click the underscored bit that says "ThirdSection."

Yes, Third Section. This has to have been the world's first modern intelligence/secret police agency. It was founded by some tsar in Russia in the late 19th century (This was one of the Aleksandrs, the same one who came up with "Orthodoxy, Autocracy, Nationality" and the "Holy Alliance"). The Third Section, under their chief, Stolypin, that particular Tsar's minister of the interior. The idea of mass-shipping political prisoners to Siberia in specially secured cattle cars was realized, and at least through Stalin's times, such trains were still called "Stolypinsky".

The Third Section was later responsible (under its newer name "Okhrana") for exiling Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin to Siberia, but that's a different story...

Anyway, if you came upon this thing which is supposed to be a description of myself, you may feel free to conclude what you would like, as I have not been able to conclude anything yet for myself.
