Entry: Anglo Saxon And British Kingdoms AD 802 - A22550753
Author: Bob Stafford (Keeper of The Treacle Shadow) - U3151547
This is not finished. There are bound to be others with an opinion about the subject and if the entry wants altering it is best done at this stage.

Hello, Bob. This looks very interesting, however I need to read it again. A lot of info to absorb.
I think you mean the Kingdom of Northumbria, not 'Northumbrian'

Great idea, organising all this.
May I suggest it would make a wonderful Guide Entry?
I would also suggest that you include a bit about the ethnic makeup: the Celts who were there in Roman times, the Anglo-Saxon immigrants. Plus perhaps a note about the language, the literature, the record-keeping?

Hi dmitrigheorgheni
I shall try but some of the information will be found here when I finish it.
A22747935 British Tribes At The Time Of The Claudian Invasiom
And I would lik your comment on this as they are sort of linked.
A22016882 Watling Street ; A Journey
Thank you for your interest and encouragement

This is great stuff.
For the Claudian invasion, again - more details. I didn't know Caractacus got off. They usually killed defeated generals, I thought. That's a fascinating fact to know.
And Watling Street, a wonderful journey. Especially for those of us not lucky enough to live near there. Could we have lots and lots of picture links, please? Make it a profusely-illustrated.
I'll shut up and stop kibitzing now.

Hello Bob!
Did you mean to put this in the Alternative Writing Workshop? Should it not be in the Edited Guide Writing Workshop?

Bob,
I was looking at the sections on Gods and Christianity. Might you want to expand further and perhaps have a separate entry ?
Just a thought.......

U1250369 Posted May 23, 2007
There's a lot of information packed into a small space. All relevant, I know, but you could create several entries around any of your headers.
I would prefer knowing a lot more about each one rather than a little. (But that's probably because I'm interested in the subjects you've covered)
PS I do realise that if you take up my suggestion, you're signing up to a helluva of a hard slog

Hi Chips - Sangfroid
Yes but the Gods are covered there is a link in the text have a look.
A13392911 Norse Gods
The burial practices also done link in text I did that
A18066152 burial practices
So that leaves the entry now how to tmprove this or split it up the only way is an entry on each kingdom what I have writen is about all the fact there is and that is about all even the site of A3483029 The Battle of Brunanburh is lost in history. The borders were changeing all the time and it is hard to be precise that is why the entries are as they are.
The entry is about the Heptarchy at the hight of its power just before it was smashed by the Norse invasions 790 - 872.
If you want a I will start a UNI entry (you can help co write it if you want) on each of the seven kingdoms but NOT YET this will take me a day or two to finish
1. A19993585 English Chartered Markets: 2 The Midlands.
2. A22909917 English Chartered Markets: 3 The South Midlands East Anglia And Wales.
3. A19993323 English Chartered Markets: 4 The South.
4. A22961162 English Chartered Markets: 5 The South West
5. A22016882 A Journey Along Watling Street.
6. A20744822 The Method and Procedures of Nelson's Navy.
7. A22550753 Anglo Saxon And British Kingdoms.
And
A14481786 H2G2 Challenge 2. Battle of Trafalgar. Joint Entry With Alex 'Tufty' Ashman and Whisky.
AND
A22747935 British Tribes At The Time Of The Claudian Invasion
The idea is to have a set of four entries.....
In prepairation Pre Roman British tribes
A22909917 British Tribes At The Time Of The Claudian Invasion
A22550753 Anglo Saxon And British Kingdoms The Heptarchy
In prepairation The Heptarchy to the Norman Invasion
About 16000 to 20000 words I an already getting told the entries are getting a bit wordy.
So if anyone else has any ideas...
Bob...
(PS comments welcome on ANY of the above)

Bob, not that it matters but A14481786 is 'Alternative Uses for Clothes Pegs'
I've found the Battle of Trafalger - A20737848.
I've subscribed to your new thread, but, if you don't mind, I'll just read what others say before I put in my two penneth.
To be honest, I've never made a serious contribution to the EG Workshop or ever got involved, so I do need to see what's required.
