Thw human race has been feeling unsecure since the begginings of written history. We firstly created gods in order to satisfy our need for worshiping and to have someone to mention and accuse for creating whatever we couldnt understand and explain. Thereafter, god became a sociopiliticval matter, being taken advantage of by politicians trying to make a common moral code, suitable for survival between many people. So, christianity was created, being a highly civilized religion. With the evolution of human sciences, god's place and space in the univesrse is given a lot of thought and thew belief in him is fading, if there is still so. So, lacking something supernatural to fear, we are turning to the inland (earth), since fearing is common and instictive to the human race. The result of this, is development of various movements having something to hate during thw 20th century. We fear and hate the arabs, the black people, the jewish, thw indians, thw albanians and so on. A generic approach to this phenomenon is called xenofobia.

Do you really think you can compare fear of God to fear of strangers / people from other nations? These are two totally different kinds of fear to me.

a xenophobe is not really a racist. a Xenophobe has a distrust or fear of all that is foreign, meaning not only people. A racist simply hates people of different cultures and believes they are inferior to him. A xenophobe doesn't necesarily see it that way.
I think few people are true xenophobes whereas there are plenty of racists about.

Xenophobia is just a natural survival instinct designed to protect individuals from the unknown. However when it grips a society it can become one of the most destructive forces known to man. Most religious wars aren't realy religious at all, as the tennets of most faiths teach against them, they are in fact xenophobic wars.
It could happen anywhere and it can be almost overnight as it did in Yugoslavia, that beautifull modern country where many of us spent our holidays. It could happen here, take for instance the modern British Press with their campaign about imigrants and asylum seekers, they are whipping up such strong feelings that I find my self in arguments almost everyday. I see parralels with the rise in anti-semitism which gave birth to Nazi Germany, it sends shivers down my spine.
We all need to act as individuals and challenge our base instincts, challenge the crap in the newspapers and we should not stand idley by whilst people are pilloried for doing exactly what most of us would do in their situation.

Hi, 44 year old computer professional,
And when someone tells you that they can do it, you have to listen. The transformation will be neither be catastrophic nor apocalyptic, but rather miraculous. The first thing it does, is to dispense with the services of Xenophobia. With a computer, you can work wonders.

I've been living in your country for little less than a year.
I think Xenophobia may be expressed in many ways..
in my case.. it's difficult to say, but sometimes, you'll feel really down, when Someone calls you Jackie Chan, or doing something like, - shooting a water-gun at you, or stoning you - something just because you have darker skin.
I actually felt bad about that being disliked by a stranger. especially when they are in a group of people drunken, and I'm all alone going home without a person who can help me.
Vut I also think that happens all the time. Well, it's difficult to remve all the shortcomings of people.
In japan, they have kinda culture called "IZIME"
They feel better when they harass other human being who has somekind of eccentric behavior or relatively weak social position.
I also think that Xenofobia is another way of same social problem expressed in a different, place and situation.

It is when EU humanitarians and defective politicians, import Muslims with only an allegiance to the absolute agenda of Mohammed's Islam, English citizens must revolt. Their very English homeland is now being over-run with weeds.
