A Conversation for Xenophobia

Fascism is a particular worked-out political ideology. It is not simply racism or even xenophobia, although it usually encourages these.

Fascism can be vaguely defined as an ideology that, first and foremost, believes in the values of fundamental superiority of some individuals over others and the notion of realism over "weak" humanitarianism. ie, a fascist believes that it is realistic to kill a terminally ill and "socially useless" person rather than look afer them, as a humanitarian would, as they have ceased to serve any purpose to a fascist society.

Whilst most fascists are racist and xenophobic, it would be wrong to believe that this is what identifies a fascist. If we do this, then not only do we forget what fascism actually is, but we would also be incapable of recognising a branch of fascism which has no national or racial prejudice, which would not be impossible within the ideology

thanks for the extra things to think about. At the time of posting, I wasn't really going along the lines of 'this is the definitive description of xenophobia. The guide in those days was more of a 'this is my view of the world' type forum.

I do have a query about 'fascism' and it's definition however, as far as I'm aware, the original concept was a derivative of the fasces _ a collection of reeds given strength by their combination as opposed to a single reed, then corrupted by the movement which later became know as 'fascism'

This 'corruption' is something close to my heart as I have had my culture corrupted by the Klan (american perversion) that has stolen emblems from my culture and made them it's own.

Anyway - I'm getting away from the point here and probably won't be able to the point justice at the moment - maybe another arttile in the future will replace this.

Something I found strange (and got me thinking along lines that lead to my above post) was a Nazi poster that was issued when America (finally smiley - winkeye ) joined in the war. It displayed all the things that the Nazis felt would horrify Germans regarding the USA. One of these things was the Ku Klux Klan. This led to me considering the differences between fascism and racism.

Also got me thinking that even the most scummy people still can't get along smiley - winkeye
