I've given blood 6 times now and always consider it a good thing to do - I've persuaded lots of my friends to go too.
I was going to write an entry on this myself, but I see the topic has already been more than adequately covered - well done! Hopefully just getting this entry on h2g2 will have encouraged more people to donate.

I gave blood again for the first time in two years recently, and also joined the bone marrow donor register. Apparantly only 1 in 12 blood donors are registered bone marrow donors, so I thought I ought to register!
