Oh, they're wings - I thought you may appreciate them.... I thought you may need this *produces book on how to fly in ten easy lessons* It's a tad tatty at the edges, and there may be some pages missing. (I believe the previous owner gave up and started to make paper darts out of the book.....)

*Thumbs through book*
Seems a bit complicated, I'll read it later.
*Tosses book on pile of half read Terry Pratchett books.*

*Glances across at the half read Terry Pratchett books....*
You should try what I do.... cheat and listen to the audio versions available on cassette ...... They're dead good!! Nigel Planer (Neil from "The Young Ones") reads some of 'em...

Hmmm... Am I to assume you're not British as you've never heard of "The Young Ones"? Oh, dear - you've missed a classic t.v. series... Do try the tapes though - I think Isis published them.

The only British shows we seem to get are "Are You Being Served and Keeping Up Appearances". We had Red Dwarf for a while but someone decided to take it off the air.;-( We have Lexx now though.

Lexx - ooooh! I could wax lyrical about it and frequent the various Lexx fan sites .... It's a Canadian/German production by the way... It's really funny... I've been known to drool profusely over Kai...
In fact *smirk* I'll be watching the 2nd episode of series 3 in about 2 hour's time....

I didn't know where it was made. It's totally tasteless....My kind of t.v..

Try out www.lexx.com which is the main fan site where I'm registered as "Q" (yes, I like Star Trek too....). There are links to lots of other sites floating around, so do check those out. Sad Geezer's Guide to Lexx (he does ones to Red Dwarf and Hitch Hiker's Guide too) are really fun. The chat room at the main site is always friendly and not too crowded (it's java by the way...) but watch out for spoilers as the majority of users have started to watch series 3....

I just registered there as "KUMABEAR". I try to stick with the bear theme whenever possible. Maybe we'll cross paths in real-time.

Sad to hear of the demise of the actor who played Q in the James Bond films. Only M, O, and P left.

Kumabear Posted Feb 15, 2000
It is sad. I liked the old coot. But now we'll ,most likely, see John Cleese taking up the business of device making.

Or maybe O will be promoted to Q. O must be frustrated after spending all these years only being allowed to half-kill people, unlike the OOs who could kill, maim and destroy however they wished.
P, who runs the parking lot and warehouse, may apply for the job. He does have the skill of driving Qs inventive, dangerous, vehicles and storing the other devices.

Yes, I was really sad to hear the old Q had died...
But what a brilliant thought of John Cleese filling his boots!
I'll keep an eye out for you on the Lexx site BB. Have fun! Do try out some of the links to other fan sites - there are some good freebie downloads available of Lexx themes, etc. Also a lot of fan fiction to peruse...

This brake cleaner you refer to, is it the brakleen kind, or the stuff 3m sells that is so volatile that it evaporates before it can drip off of whatever you sprayed it on?
A warning

I live in Texas (Orange, to be exact) and have had to go head to head with two of these guys lately (though not at the same time). The first taught me that a thorough smash and pliers to the head don't kill them. The second, smaller only by about 1/8 inch, I dealt with more swiftly than the first: it landed on the carpet, my fist came down. Instant death. Just had to wash my hand (not that there was anything visible on it).
What's bad about where I live is that we have the big ones (though they're better known as Wood Roaches here) like I killed and the smaller, non-flying ones.
For fun with a roach, take a pin, stick it to the wall, and leave to rot. Then display it with all the others you've killed as war trophies.
@Gwenie: What have they done to us? Let's see...eat our food, spread diseases, destroy our houses and homes...I can go on. I'll send you a plane ticket to come see some of them if you wish...

What actually works on cockroaches; Mix washungup liquid one tablespoon to one half pint of water, pour into a spray bottle. when cockroaches (or other insect/arachnid pests are sprayed liberally, they suffocate!
In reference to brake cleaner used on bugs; A friend of mine who is very afraid of spiders happened to see a LARGE furry one at work here in Arizona, so he sprayed it with carbuerator cleaner. The spider turned out to be female and had lord-knows-how-many off spring cling to it's body... suddenly, the offspring were roaring around the floor and up this poor fellow's leg!!! talk about a fast dance.
