smiley - stout English Guinness was brewed at Park Royal from 1936. The brewery was designed by Sir Gilbert Scott, the architect who also designed Battersea and Bankside power stations. It was closed in 2005 and, despite protests, was demolished in 2006.

With the addition of local ingredients, believed to be maize and sorghum, the end product was brewed, becoming a stout of 7.5%. Possibly the nearest to the original recipe. Since 1987, it has been brewed locally using totally native products, when an export ban on certain items was imposed.
