Speaking off the cuff and totally unofficially, I'd say that one photo would be welcome, as long as it can be cropped to 200 x 200. It's best to provide 2 copies, one cropped to that size and the other a more detailed original, in case the Eds don't like the way you cropped it and want to do it themselves.

St Giles, Dates from 13th Century and has wall painting from the 15th Century, Imber Village it self, is a ghost village as on the 1/11/43 in the school house a meeting was called by the War Office and the villagers were given just 47 days to leave, as the surrounding aera was to be used to train the troops for D-Day and they were also told the could return in 6 months, to this day they never have! the church is still standing and is grade 2 listed, but is in need or repair, it is just open once a year for the congragation and whats left of the faimlies to tend the graves, also you can visit Imber when the Army has open days!
Is this the sort of thing hootoo needs

PS i have recent pictures of Imber and the church!

Hi again and just a thought.... as were looking at forgotten stuff, how about War marmorelals, its seems every village has one? also the "lost WW2 defences of this country" a record of "pill boxes and the like" I was cycling around Somerset levels, this year, and they'er worth looking at, usualy made quite crudely, out of local materials, but quite worth a look at! air raid shelters at the end of air fields, WW2 Shadow works, theres a Building at Filton in Bristol that still has faded camoflage paint outline on the outside, and that due to be knocked down and lost forever, but a record needs to be kept! if you don't mind I'll post a picture of a beach pill box at Blue Anchour Bay, near Minehead, Somerset and you can see what i mean!

Reverend, that's a great idea. Let's see the pics. Your ideas about War Memorials etc is a good one. They may well form part of our next Book project. Good work!

I have posted 2 so far and the "pill box" is at the end of Blue Anchour Beach near Minehead, its made out of beach and cement and the only one left out of three, there's also one set back behind the railway line, I'll investigate next week into it and while i'm there the Bridgewater one's (Somerset level ones) too, the Castle Combe War Mamor, is one of the best kept I've seen so far, but there every where, I once lived in the Cotwolds and in the village, 18 names and there were only 12 Familys. One of the familys who still lived there, had an family member who was really young when her brother left for the WW1, she never really got over losing her brother, allways left the front door open for him to get in when he came back!

Ok, About the "Pill Box stuff" i have had a good look at some of them on the somerset levels, some are used by otters and the like so i did'ent want to disturb them too much! Might look for some wartime defence plans for the aera and see what else might be around to see!
