Well they say, you learn somethin new every day. 
I've been tinkering with air cooled dubs for many years, i've built beach buggies and played with my mates fridolin.
I've even messed about with shortened dubs (a type 2 pickup and a Trekker)and i've never come across a box before.
I've also been a patron of many of the UK's Vee Dub shows and never seen one in the flesh so to speak.
So thank you for the enlightenment it was appreciated
