This is a really great entry, it must have taken ages!
I wrote an entry called "Star Trek Cliches" which is just a bullet pointed list of all the cliches. It made me laugh, anyway, and I like that you've done the same thing. There are just so many plot devices that are used all the time. Having said that, though, it must be very difficult to think of things that haven't been done already.

I'm glad you like the entry. Yes, it did take ages.
You're right, of course. It's hard to think of new plot devices in sci-fi that either haven't been done or are cliches.
