Well it's got to be Horlicks - nothing like it on a cold winter day - best drank in front of the fire!
3 tsp of Horlicks - add hot water and a spot of milk - no need for sugar - mmmmmmmmmmm.

Never tried Chocolate Horlicks though - so might have to give that a try on your recommendation.

It's still that nice and milky, malty taste of Horlicks, but tastes like a couple of spoonfuls of hot chocolate has been added in. I like it because it isn't overly chocolatey.

I'll remember to pick up a sachet when I next go to Tesco's

I think Ovaltine is better than horlicks, sends me nicely to sleep.
Though perhaps not so great in a heatwave!

Probably not , suppose it depends how tired you are!
I go through phases with Ovaltine; sometimes I like it and sometimes I'm not bothered.

Different stokes...
What about normal Hot Chocolate? Not so satisfying as malt drinks in my opinion.

Also what about a really nice cup of tea with biccys when you have just come in from the cold. Can't be beat in my opinion!

Ooooooh yes...... My Sunday afternoon treat used to involve a HUGE mug of tea (and a bacon and egg butty).
Normal hot chocolate is OK...I tend to use it when I'm on a junk food reduction kick, as the Options ones are quite low in fat and calories compared to a chocolate bar.

Not that I'm against biscuits in tea - egg yolk tends to make a mess . I prefer plain digestives though...

Maybe that should be next week's topic! Haven't eaten Hob Nobs for years.....
Here's an abstract choice, as I have a mug full of it now - Blackcurrant, Ginseng and Elderflower tea. Tastes like grown-up hot Ribena. Lovely!
(also the Camomile and Lime Flowers one is particularly refreshing on days like this)

Sounds good I will have too give it a try sometime
Is it any good for dunking biccys though? Something of a acid test for a great hot drink methinks!

Being in the States, our choices of hot drinks are not that great. My favorite happens to be one I used to drink in College. At Western Michigan University, in the Eicher Hall Cafeteria, the hot chocolate machine was one of those cheap types where they put the powder in, and it dispenses powder and hot water at the same time.
The machine usually puts ina good amount of powder before it starts pouring hot water. The whole thing was good, but especially the 1/4" of sludge at the bottom of the mug. No wonder i gained 25 lbs in college...

Oh ya, forgot to mention,
I love digestives! Every time someone sends us something from NZ (where i lived for 3 years) they pack at least one package of them

Okay, why is everyone obsessed with chocolate?
Here's what I do during a Michigan Winter, which gets pretty nasty:
1 Mug Milk
STRAWBERRY Quick (R), about 4-5 teaspoons.
Heat milk, stir in Quick (R) to taste, drink, repeat until Michigan Winter goes away, or supplies of milk and/or Quick (R) are exhausted.
Quick (R) is a registered trademark of Nestle' Foods. Be sure to get the pink canister...

Arrgghhh!
Not evil Nestle. I have been boycotting Nestle for sometime over their less than savory practices in the third world . So I am afriad I cannot try your drink. (does sound nice though!)
