um... i canna speak for anyone else but i am not a big fan of the term usian or its variations... especially since it is coined and used by nonamericans.... and without my permission... there are south americans and north americans and maybe thats the way it will go someday but right now i and my countrypeople are Americans.

sure, Yanks it is and I refuse to use American as I have Canadian, and Yank relatives and the Canadian's don't like it as they're Americans but they don't come from the US. Also I was introduced to the term USian by a Floridian.

It depends on my mood, it can be British, Mercian, Scottish or, occasionally, English, if is counted as a nationality, rather than an ethnicity I'd mostly say Nordic. During international sporting events like the Rugby World Cup or Six Nations I'm a Scot and p!$$ on the English!
And I'm sorry but Canadians are from America which makes them American.

But America is not a country, it's several land masses. Insisting that only people from the US are Americans is like saying only people from South Africa are Africans. We could use Meiguroren, which is what the Chinese use to refer to people from the US. As it is I have no problem with not using USian, but unless I'm referring to all peoples from America then it would be rude and highly disrespectful to use the term American.

Couldn't you call them 'US Americans'?
That'd be an excellent name for them.

i guess it would depend on whether you were referring to 'us americans' or 'you americans.'
so i, being an american, would say 'us americans' and you, being nonamerican, would say 'you americans?'
right
i'm confused.

How to un-confuse or de-confuse you?
I know! With dots: U.S. Americans.
