Spiffy - Always glad to see you

I've decided it's okay for me to browse around untill i feel smiley - cool enough to post around. I'm not that good at opinions yet smiley - blush
Basically this means I've been lurking around all day. Among others I lurked at A446078 (the Kingdom of Balwyniti - including the dungeon smiley - ghost) and A431911 - The Royal h2g2 Procrastinators Society - which seemed very homely smiley - teasmiley - cake so I think I'll join them later.
Of course this means I really belong at A588440 (The Unofficial H2G2 Lurkers Society), but hey - a lurker doesn't join if that means she has to un-lurk herself! smiley - biggrin
Naturally I couldn't miss A516647; The Manifesto for the Campaign to rename Thursday "Thing", but yet again I didn't dare. I know deep in my heart I can't resist the temptation, but I have decided to yield in stages. Therefore I changed my nick to Spiffy - Doobry-born And Proud Of It!
And of course I asked for a smiley - orangefish today at A568703. I hope I'll really get one smiley - smiley

It seems I'm more into the community than into the Serious Stuff. Well, if that is how it is, blah blah blah. smiley - biggrin

Titania (gone for lunch)

Hi there!smiley - smiley

The conversations is what got me hooked in the first place - somehow I ended up in a splendid party celebrating someone's exams, and some adventures, and more parties, and food fights, and...smiley - bigeyes

There are researchers who are only here because of the conversations, and then there are those who are here for the reading, and those who are here for the writing.

One thing doesn't exclude another - but try it out in your own good time, do whatever you feel like - no pressure!

Thanks - I must admit I was making it harder for myself then it has to be...
I was trying to read up on the No!No!No!-thread, reading tons of Entries (Edited and normal), reading The Post, thinking of a Brilliant Subject for an Entry of my own and trying to figure out how to become friends with everyone at the same time smiley - tongueout

I guess I'll take it more easy from now smiley - biggrin

Titania (gone for lunch)

Just learning to find your way around, checking the front page each day (and checking the 5 busiest conversations found on the front page), checking smiley - thepost each week and getting to know people will probably be enough to keep you busy!smiley - biggrin

Do what you *want* to do, rather than what you feel you *have* to do - the original h2g2 started in 1999 (some of the original researchers are still around - if you bump into someone with a 5-digit researcher number, than it's one of them) and I think you'll have plenty of time to try it all out...

Have you tried taking the <./>DontPanic-Tour</.>?

Reading "No No No"? smiley - bigeyes

And Titania's right - dictate your own pace. smiley - zen

Don't feel bad about "community vs serious stuff" I loose track for how long Ive bene on this site is it three or four years? smiley - erm) and I never found the skill and patience to consitently write good Guide Entires and quicky found myself gravitating to the Comunity aspect of things - an upshot of which was creating The Thingites - of which you are our latest member - and on it's own terms that has been a fantastic success! smiley - bubbly

My point is first of course, welcome to being a regular poster on h2g2 - and secondly given enough time you'll find what you enjoy most. This is a community in a very real sense. Diverse enough to allow everyone their niche. smiley - biggrin

and yes, Read smiley - thepost <./>thepost</.>

Clive. smiley - ok
