h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've been having a lot of picture envy recently.

I'm not very good at this digital art business, and in the type of drawing I do everyone perfects there pictures using that now leaving mine miles behind without any pretty effects

Trouble is, I'm one of those artists that generally hates his own pictures anyway

And I cant take criticism or praise particularly well



Now, for St Vals day mesa decided Isa gonna draw a pretty picture

I thought maybe a girl and a valentines day angel

However, its surprisingly hard to decide what a guy angel wears

anywhos, so I did this rough sketch and showed Cal, and I didnt particularly like it, and he loves it

I shall perservere with my pencil and make it perfect now. Then I shall finish all those other projects I meant to finish yonks ago

PS. I know this journal really had little point

1) it's very good

2) you never like anything you draw

3) give me a proper drawing over a computer generated thing anyday! wheres the artestry in that?!

Well, you do have to know how to use the program to make it do what you want, and you have to desing what you want, thats artistry

Blah! it's not proper drawing it designing, theres a difference

I am quite good at using several of the industry's biggest and baddest CAD programs. But I am no-where's near being an architect or an engineer. Some things are simply innate, mate. I recall having seen a few of your sketches waaaaaay long time ago. You're good, so just live with it.

I'm crap, but Beck seems to think that the picture I sent her for Christmas is good, so I differ to her obviously superior judgement.

I can't draw to save my life so I'm anyway

I wish I could get back into the habit of drawing. I never see anything interesting enough to make me want to draw it though. I do the odd doodling at work of ideas of my own, but they're always little rush post-it note jobbies.

I can doodle pretty, but actually draw anything worth giving away? phft! Sorry.
