Exactly
They are going to have a in sleigh flying around above my head for the next 3 weeks and I'm supposed to help put him up
I intend to be grumpy and miserable about the whole thing
Will anyone notice?

I wouldn't mind if it didn't go on so long
A weekend of it I could cope with but a month plus is a bit much
My flat will probably be an Xmas-free zone again this year

I might put up cards

I'd be happy with a ban on Christmas commercialism.
Every year, same thing. Buy stuff for relatives whose taste you don't know, and put everything they give you into the charity collection bag in January.
Then spend three months paying off your credit card bill

The worst bit is that you're supposed to turn out in November to buy the stuff, then in January to get rid of it again.
It would seem that we are losing a whole month each year to this Christmas business...

Last year I bought everything in November, then the first week in December the sales started!
I learned a lesson.
Wait till the last few days. Then round like a headless
I feel like I've had a personality transplant, as I'm usually an organised person.

At a roundabout near me, a local lingerie store has put up its famous annual poster . Every year it causes minor accidents as male drivers are confronted with silk-wrapped femininity at eye level.
What is it about we men that a few scraps of lace have power to drive us wild? We are such simple creatures.
I like Christmas myself, in moderation. It helps that I have two children who are still heavily into the Santa myth, and another who has begun to recognise him as part of the Pantheon (which also includes Pooh Bear, Bob the Builder and Laa Laa).

*chuckles*
Perhaps you should sing Jingle Bells tonelessly, over and over and OVER again till they throw said decor at you....

Just read this in my children's primary school newsletter:
'It's that dreaded time of the year when the "C-word" is on everyone's lips' Errrr.....

I should explain
Christmas 2002: Had my tree up
January 2003: A mate came to stay with me for a while, and took the tree down against my wishes
Christmas 2003: Had my tree up
2004: Decided to keep it up as a form of passive agression, just to annoy my mate any time he came around to visit.
Ok, it probably didn't bother him, but I felt better

I am well dear...a little disappointed though...I woke up this morning convinced it was Friday...and then I realised it wasn't
So, how goes it there ???
