A list of contemporary Christmas Greetings from yesterday's Grauniad:
· May You Receive All The Peace And Comfort of Your Chosen Religious Beliefs, While Cherishing The Freedom To Laugh at The Beliefs of Others.....or, if You Don't Really Believe in Anything, an iPod.
· Hoping You And Your SUV Enjoy The Festive Congestion Charge Hiatus
· Happy Binge!
· May Tesco Still Have Celery at 5pm on Christmas Eve.
· Eat, Drink And Watch Octopussy Again.
· Remember The True Meaning of Christmas: It's Not About The Presents. It's About Store Credit.
· Let It Snow When You Have A Bet On.
· May You Never Remember What Happened at the Office Party, And May No One in The Vicinity Have Had a Camera-Phone on Their Person.
· Here's To Watching Some Important Soap Characters Get Killed
· May All The Festive Lights of Yuletide Help With Your Seasonal Affective Disorder.
· December's Respects.
· Fa La La La La, Yadda Yadda Yadda.
· Wishing You A Healthy Retail Sector.
· Have a Nice Time Over Those Two Days When all The Shops are Shut.
· May Your Credit Remain Healthy Until The Sales
· Hey! You're Not The Only One Who Gets a Little Depressed This Time of Year.
· I've Sent You This Joyous Card In Plenty of Time. It's Not My Fault If You Don't Get It Until Boxing Day.
· May You And Your Family Not Have To See Each Other For A While After This.
· Merry Weird Conflation of Pagan Solstice Rite, Christian Religious Holiday and Capitalist Free-for-all, and a Happy No-Drinking January.
Festive Excitement
Thursday Posted Dec 15, 2004
The only reference to Christmas in the London Metro has been a 'health' article entitled 'get a ho, ho, honed body', with Santa shown doing aerobics - oh well, that's what you get with free newspapers...
Anybody know what the Torygraph thinks of Christmas?

My mind raced ahead of my reading speed there, and I initially interpreted it as 'Get a ho'.

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ? Posted Dec 19, 2004
I live with my parents, have dinner with my grandparents at least once a week as well as seeing them on weekends and pretty much stay in contact with all the family (except one cousin) who come to Chirstmas... So, there goes the 'gathering of family' idea, unless you're that one cousin...
LA!
I'm tired and not making sense to myself... Which is why I decided to post here.

at least you know I'm likely to be tired and not making sense to anyone
Stop Making Sense
next gathering of our extended family will be a wedding next July, a cousin I haven't seen for about 10 years

Well, all the people who come to Chirstmas are on my Mum's side cause they live in Melbourne (aside from the other branch who all live in the same place in NSW so we go there a fair bit). Dad's family, however, half of them are in Brisbane and his sister is in England. We're going on a big cruise with all of them next year
