Sounds like one worth going to, as well!
It's amazingly difficult to find loose-leaf tea here (beyond the one own brand the big supermarkets always seem to have). For a nation of tea drinkers, they don't really treat it with much respect.

I thought you meant Thai iced tea.
I get this sometimes when I go to one my local pho restaurants.

I like Thai iced tea, too, but I can't have dairy milk so I don't get it really often. I bought some at a local Thai grocery so I can make it at home- I use coconut milk to get the right consistency. I want to have a go at non-dairy bubble tea, too. .

There's a place called Teavana at a nearby mall. Although they brew some tea on the premises, it's for giving away as free samples. They sell teapots, tea sets, and various different types of loose tea or tea in teabags. They have some good stuff, but much of it is very expensive.

Bubble tea? What's that?

It's some cold drink (tea? not sure) and it comes in a beaker thing with a wide straw, because it has "bubbles" of flavoured stuff (fruit syrup?) which you suck up and burst in your mouth. They look like those bubble bath things but smaller.
The Gruesome Twosome and all their daft mates love it, but I find it too sweet or just bleuch. a trend that comes from Asia, according to the last Bubble Tea Shop I was in.

We also have a bubble tea shop in town since a few months. Bubble tea *and* these cakes... what's their name... like muffins just with this creamy stuff... um... you know what I mean.
There's a Starbucks in Vienna at the opposite side of the street to Sacher, right next to the opera. I think that's a bit... (lacking words today, anyone seen them?)
But there's also a nice tea shop near to the cathedral. It's quite old, all the people are wearing green uniforms and the tea is in big old containers (painted) which stand on wooden shelves that go up to the ceiling. But it's mostly for just buying tea, not drinking.

well it's true you learn something new every day. I never heard of Bubble tea before. Anything "cold" regarding tea has always been an oxymoron to me, I like my tea hot in a large mug (and preferably PG Tips). Just a splash of cold semi-skimmed milk and no sugar, thanks a lot.
I'm refusing the tea this week on Jury Duty because it's served in polystyrene cups.

Well done that person, Just to ask you to sit on a jury, should require China to be served!

You're doing it wrong. The whole point of jury service is scamming the courts out of as much free stuff as possible. Fraudulent expenses, as much tea as anyone can drink, et cetera!

You see? Invite everyone round for a cup of and we all get chatting.
I drink every kind of tea from delicate white and green teas through to tea like tar with milk and sugar. All I ask is that it's made with hot fresh water and tastes of summat.
I do feel bad about the starbuckery - Has anyone read Dave Gorman's book about driving across the USA using only independent gas stations and motels? (It's the inspiration for the roadtrip Z and I are planning this summer). The problem is, you know what you are letting yourself in for with brand-names; they are a short-cut when the experience is not about the experience but about grabbing body-fuel.

Nah, I'm saving the expenses, rather than spend them on shite tea.

Ho yus, I certainly have (and it's now somewhere in Germany), it was on telly a while back as well, although you might want to skip the aftermath of him succumbing to 'The Man' and having a McDonalds

I haven't read it yet, but it's in my to-read list.
I love hot tea, but I drink iced tea like it's going out of style- I have a lucite type of pitcher with an infuser for cold brewing and I start a pot every morning before I go to work. It's empty by the time I go to bed. I like cold beverages in the evenings (especially in the summer when it's 30°C every night...).
I also drink coffee in the mornings (rather than drinking the Starbucks yuck at the office- I'm very picky when it comes to coffee) but just the one cup a day.

I read it (kindly sent from the UK ) and I thought it was fabby. And Marvy. And am looking forward to the full report of the so inspired Zen's trip.
