The deed is done! I've officially moved in. My domestic bliss is somewhat hampered, however, by the lack of a phone line, and the wait of at least a fortnight before anyone can be bothered to come and install one. So if you see me online in the meantime, I'm not really here, I'm just a figment of your imagination.

D'you know, I'm sure he's expressed admiration for the work of Laurence Llewellyn -Bowen in the past...I think we need zebra stripes on the walls, and a purple metallic open tread staircase in the middle of the floor, and lime green perspex shutters.
Right, who's off to B&Q for the MDF?

*dumps an assortment of odd looking planks of very dodgy looking wood*
Well, LLB was busy! Now all we need is Dermot to come up with a concrete structure for just outside the front door and we're away!

GOes off to round up some Oirish friends to act as Dermot's gang of labourers.

I happen to know that he loves Thomas The Tank Engine. That's why he likes staying with me - the 'spare' room is very tastefully decorated. So a life-size Thomas would be be perfect.

Wonder if we can lay some track to get the life size Thomas in here from the Grangemouth - Bo'ness railway yard.

OK need to knock that wall down I have the Bo'ness Thomas parked on the front lawn and Dermot is going crazy as it just demolished his concrete construction.

what's wrong with his waitcoats?
Sounds like something you wear while paint dries.

Right I've got a tanker full of battleship grey paint outside. It was a bargain. I thought I'd start by painting the carpet and then move on to the curtains and sofa.
