One year ago (give or take some hours), I woke up in the morning and read the best email I ever got. The one that said 'I love you, too'.
And things have never been the same.
[Yes, this journal entry is pure kitsch. Sorry about that.]
Been one hell of a year, really. But in a good way.
Back then, I still had no idea if I'll ever even get to meet Dan - or rather, when. But in February he came here, which was the greatest time I ever had, and in August I'll be going there, which will probably be even better. Simply because it keeps getting better, all the time.
I miss him every second we are not together - which is most of the time - but I wouldn't change that for anything. It's worth it.
One year down, the rest of our lives to go...
It'll be alright.

It's not kitsch - it's very sweet, and I hope that one day everything works out properly for you two. So there.

Yes, it is Kitsch - and I am proud and happy for you because of it! Me, I got married this spring a short time after a similar email. Good for you!!! Good luck and all the best. And remember, whatever anyone says (including me), just do what feels right at each moment for you!!!

Traveller in Time on his head
"Time is an illusion
Happy times seem as short as they last
Waiting time lasts the longest
Do not lose time, use it loose while it happens.
Waiting for the announcement of the fusion. "

Sorry, Prof, I have to disagree. My wife is in Mongolia right now while I am in Germany, an I do feel every freaking inch of the distance. But still, love does conquer the distance. Makes you aware of it, too.

I'm inclined to feel the opposite, Prof.
Even being in the next room was always too far away.
Now, other side of the world, it seems like forever.
But, we made it before, and we'll be together again, soon.
Thanks, everyone.
I take back those things I said about you all.

It's not Kitsch... It's schmalz.
Kitsch is a Felix the Cat wall clock with moving eyes and tail.
Wait... what was that word again?...
Oh, yea! Snogfesterific or something like that.

*shrug* Different usage... as I know it, kitsch is also anything that is over-sentimental.
Or snogfesterwhateveritwas.
