The audience probably would have not been surprised The Beadle was a played as a creepy and slightly camp sycophantic sadist. Yes it *was* a character, I was *acting*
I have no cute sisters, older or younger. However my younger brother is considered a brilliant Byronic hunk... but I think we each other fairly equally for our separate talents and achievements

I understand that *real* scotsmen dont wear anything under their kilts.
Who's to say real beadles dont wear garters?
And you two sisters will just have to make up your minds over who gets what distinction. How can you go on without being able to label each other?

Lady Chattingly Posted Feb 1, 2006
Actually, we don't need to label each other. We get along pretty well without it.
If there were to be a label attached to either of us, it would probably be "outrageous"!

We also both love the music from the Nutcracker. I think I'll listen to it tonight while I cook my supper.

I don't know it at all - I'm very backward on my classical music, ballet and opera.

Mask varnished. Haven't had a chance to get the pipe-cleaners for whiskers yet.
Only LeoA has yet made any substantial comments on A8851935 the 'how to make a mask' entry in PR (but they were substantial ) - I should have put something intriguing in the title to garner more interest.
Should see the Russian dancers tonight if I understood correctly what is going on. Must remember to ask how the music is to be performed. We have been rehearsing to a tape, which is fair enough, but on reflection I haven't heard any mention of orchestra calls in the next week. It will be disappointing if the music isn't perfromed live.

I think the public will assume a live orchestra. Perhaps those arrangements were made separately and they're off rehersing someplace else.
Bummer about he mask. And you know I am notorious about not commenting. HOwever, this time I am guilty of not reading, either. I'll remedy that today, especially since I might get ideas for a summer reading project.

"rehearsing"
I do things like that on purpose to keep Pimmsaloonie in practice. Actually, I can spell, but I'm the world's worst typist.

Sorry Pimms, I haven't had chance to look at your masks entry since it went into PR. I'll try to take a look ASAP.

It is frustrating that often only when you review your freshly posted posting that the typos leap out . Note: 'perfromed' in post66

It is explained on my space that the Lettuce referred to was a fictional character, not a leafy vegetable. I rather like the idea of Radicchio... why? Cos I do Another little gem

Hypatia Posted Feb 2, 2006
If you decide to be an actual lettuce, you could be Simpson Elite. Or perhaps Merlot. Lady C would have to be Freckles.

Lady Chattingly Posted Feb 2, 2006
Freckles? Is there really a lettuce called Freckles? I want some!

Hypatia Posted Feb 2, 2006
Yep. I used to buy it from Shepherds. Course they were bought out by somebody - can't remember who. I'll see if Cook's Gardens has any.

The English name for this is Freckles.

Well, I do have a preference for the leafy greens over nuts. Especially drizzled lightly with olive oil and served with some tomato and feta cheese...
