Farlander: It depends on what I'm writing. Usually I can write quite comfortably, unless the car's speed is uneven. I like doing geometry homework the best in the car, out of all the written homework I have. The short words and abbreviations are easy to write.
Crazy Man: You want to explain that? But only if it's easy, 'cause I don't have that much math yet. (Algebra I/Geometry)
Arwen: Vernal equinox is in march, usually 21/22. Autumnal is in september.

ok... arwen? jen? i'm doing a thingites time zone thingy, so could you pls tell me your exact location (your city, not your complete address!) and time zone? thanks. the page is at A1066411.
(don't ask me why i started this project; i don't know)

dunno if i'm sposeed to tell you here, or add to page, so i'll just tell you-i'm in weare, which is near cheddar (heard of cheddar cheese?) and at GMT

Viojen 2*16+1+3+6=42. Fencing-it's escrime! Posted Jun 4, 2003
I don't want to tell you exactly where I am here, and there are some very distinct things about my town, even from knowing the county. But I will tell you I'm in CT.
GMT-5:00
But isn't there already a time-zone page?
And could someone explain the stuff in hannah's nickname/that crazyman was talking about? Please? If it's not too complicated. Or even if it is.
Just tell a little bit at a time, and when I get too confused I'll tell you to stop, so you don't have to bother explaining the whole thing, just in case.
Thank you. (because I *know* you're going to)

Farlander Posted Jun 5, 2003
yes, there *is* a time zone page, but it's not exactly complete, and besides a lot of thingites aren't listed down there, and i don't think most of them know where the page is anyway... so... i don't know why. seriously. i must be mad to undertake a project like that.
re: the thing arwen and crazyman were talking about - do you know anything about differentiation and integration?
i hate maths....
arwen, doing nasty essays. being a student should *not* involve work! Posted Jun 9, 2003
its v complicated. basically, if you differentiate (X to the power of N) with respect to X, you get (NX to the power of (N-1)),
and if you integrate (X to the power of N) with respect to X, you get (X to the power of N+1) divided by (N+1).
if you integrate 1/X (with respect to X), you get natural log of X,
but i want to know what happens when you integrate 1/k with respect to T, so you are integrating something with respect to a different something. although i think k was a constant in the question.
got that?!
but it doesnt matter now-i've done that exam, and there wasnt a nasty question like that (although we didnt have enough time to finish everything) and i need to revise things i've still got to do exams in

*blunders in knocking over pot plants etc*
Sorry sorry just stumbling in as you can see.
I wanted to say for the Thingite time-zone thing that I'm GMT, coming from Birmingham or Coventry....depending what map you look on.
Jen prob won't say where she is just in case one of us jumps on a plane/car/bike or whatever and stalks her!
Sorry for wandering into a nothingness

. what class is that for, calculus? I really want to take BC Calc with my current teacher, but she is retiring before I finish the stuff I need to learn before I take that class. Well, thanks for explaining, even if I didn't understand any of it. Now can anyone tell me what the log function does?
That whole map thing? Well, we may name our places after yours, but at least we know where they go on the map!
And Farlander won't even tell us what country she's in. Not that I haven't figured it out already.
ANyways, I know none of you can afford to come hunt me down.

I can actually afford it right now! Well....once i've paid for this stuff on amazon maybe I can't...but I can certainly chuck about......£450 on finding you....would that be enough?

Umm, maybe enough to get you across the pond, but no further than that.
And food is a touchy issue here, because I don't share food. If someone asks me for part of my lunch I bite their head off. (see DZ's list of dislikes for more on that topic)

sharing food. ick. the only thing worse than sharing food is sharing your *drink*. ok ok so i know we all have the same mouth microflora, but it's still... ick.

oh, and happysuggs, i've listed you under 'coventry' - because i already have one 'coventry' on the list and no 'birmingham', and because sending a person to a list that says 'coventry' is just too tempting to resist
(no offence intended!)

its a-level maths, but yep, i think its calculus. and the log function is way to complicated for even me to understand. log base 10 is slightly easier-if you log a number between 1-100, its 1.something, if you log a number between 100-1000 its 2.smoething (100 being 10 to the power of 2) etc. i think. but we dont learn what the log function actually is, just how to use it.
