At risk of dragging us back to a previous topic:

Zoomer: The middle name Lonsdale is after Kirby Lonsdale, a town in England's Lake District where my grandfather was born, so he gave both his sons that middle name, and then my dad passed it down to me.

oh, and having checked out zoomer's link (which has made me very hungry so I'm off to buy some lunch) I've decided to change my name to "Richard Lonsdale Gourmet Butcher"

I can't seem to find out how the street got it's name:

But my guess is it is from the city you were (indirectly) named after. We have a habit of doing that as in Halifax, London, etc.

Also btw, would you like a pic of any of the street signs? The cross streets go Espanade, 1st up to 26th, Queens, Kings, and then a bunch of last names I think. Might make an interesting photo for the family.

Aye, I wouldn't mind. bit of a talking point for family parties- "Hey, look, we got a street and shopping centre named after the family middle name in Canada"
