Vicki Virago - Proud Mother

A short while ago (ok, a couple of months ago) I got a text message asking me who I was. I didn't answer.

Then about a month ago I got a phone call at 10.30pm asking me who I was. I said that I didn't know who they were (as my phone didn't tell me) and ended the call.

Then last night I noticed I'd got yet another text from this person asking who I was so I asked them who they were. They gave me their name. I didn't know anyone with that name so I told them. I then got 3 further messages saying that they must know me as they have my number! smiley - yikes

hmmm...I think I might be getting in touch with my mobile provider to request an alternative number.

doesn't sound like a stalker VV, and believe me I know what they sound like.

I have lost a friend this year due to mobile number changes and (her) house move - I have no idea how to contact her anymore and she didn't send me an Xmas card (unusual...) so I'll just have to hope I bump into her. Kind of your situation in reverse, but smiley - erm

Happy diwali, Icy!

I had something similar years ago. I ended up giving the stranger's number to my mobile phone provider so they could block the number. I never heard from that person again. smiley - smiley

either they typed in a number wrong or someone they asked for their number gave them a random one which just happened to be yours. Next time I suggest a reply along the lines of 'you've got a wrong number - I guess he/she (as applicable) wasn't that interested...'

Either that or string it out. 'Oh yes, I remember, John's party. Did Helen ever find out what you did?' and see how far it goes... smiley - winkeye

Back in October/November I kept getting phone calls from a Chinese Lady shouting down my phone "Chang, Chang you call me back Chang" speaking to her on the phone she never believed me, so I just let the voice mails pile up.

I've had similar experiences, Kevin convinced I was Jackie. He eventually deleted my number, but getting the provide to block it seems like a good idea.

Emily...overly fond of the ellipsis...and top ten lists...submit yours @ A87824361...

Don't rush into changing your number, start by asking your network provider to block the number.

I have to say I'd be freaked out if it happened to me. Hope you get it sorted out. smiley - cheerup
