Erk.
I''ve literally just got back from the airport, and I haven't slept since early yesterday morning American time [so, erm, I think 5 hours behind ish] so please excuse even more terrible spelling than usual. If you're wondering why I don't just go to bed, it's because I have to stay awake to prevent having terrible jetlag. Not good.
I hope all you guys are okay, I've been missing 'g2 like mad, this is the longest I've been offlined for Not really posting at the moment, just sifting through everything.
It's been a rather mixed holiday. The theme parks were good. Well, apart from the Magic Kingdom, but I've never liked that park. I've probably got some anecdotes to share, but I'll do that tomorrow when I'm more awake. We shouldn't have stayed in a tourist-y area, though, we got completely ripped off on almost everything. Well, we would have if we weren't careful, anyway. To an extent we did. I'll tell you about it later, no doubt.
Anywho, I'm a little miffed and annoyed right now because my suitcase got lost. I mean, we paid extra to get upgraded and have priority luggage handling, and they manage to lose my suitcase. Was it something I said?
Couldn't find a net-cafe, so I couldn't send you guys a "postcard"...hey, it would have arrived late anyway Must apologise to Nate & Tom, meant to text you to gloat when I was out there but things were just too whirlwind and I never got the chance.
The temperature was well over 36 C in Orlando, and boy was I pleased to feel that 20 degree drop when I got off the plane... Too hot, way too hot. But thankfully I avoided a tan.
This is EE, completely incoherently saying hello again.
Take care

Glad you're back- feels like you've been away for months!
I got up at six yesterday morning (to go to my graduation) and went to bed at 5:00 this morning... so I think I'm almost as tired as you
Hope your suitcase turned up.
May I just say you're looking fabulous?

Aw, glad you're back. Was beginning to think you weren't going to come back at all...
Ouch.
Look on the bright side- they could have got your suitcase home but sent you to the wrong airport...
Why thank you. *feels rather strange as actually is wearing a new top for the first time...*

I must admit, I wouldn't be happy if that happened I just hope my case brings back a postcard, I should be offended if it didn't!
My spidey senses were tingling...
So, anyone up for some mind-numbingly dull tales from my holiday? Hardly like I can foce you all to look at photos now, is it?

TeaKay Posted Jul 18, 2004
Aren't you a little miffed that your case has had more of a holiday than you?
Oooh, are you sure it was your spidey sense, or has No. 2 been for a visit?
Yeah, fire away *feels that the final comment was somehow directed towards me*

I know...seems somewhat unfair...
It was generally directed at anyone who was listening...
I don't really know where to start.... I'm not really very good at this. Erm. The spiderman ride at Universal. Seems a sensible thing, methinks. Now that was good! It was like a cross between a 4-d ride, a simulator and a roller coaster
Anyone here like biiiiig coasters? Because I went on loads of them

TeaKay Posted Jul 19, 2004
Aw...
I just wondered if anyone else had abused you with a torrent of photos recently...
I don't like big rollercoasters. I don't mind fast ones, but I hate heights. Well, it's not heights themselves I dislike, just falling from them. It's fine when they just stay up there and leave me alone.

I'd say more a flood than a torrent
I've never had a problem with heights in the context of coasters. Well, I've never really had much of a problem with heights. The general good thing about plunging down a really high coaster is that feeling of weightlessness like you used to get on Tower of Terror... Now that was fantastic.
Talking about weightlessness, they have Mission:Space at Epcot..that's something else. It's apparently based on what they use to train astronauts with at NASA. That was possibly the most bizarre feeling ever. You feel really heavy and then you feel really light...

Hey, I don't have photos very often, let me have my fun :-p
I've been on Oblivion twice, and that was about three times too many.
That sounds really cool... I want to go on one of those astronaught training dives- the ones where you're in a big plane, it climbs really high and then dives to simulate weightlessness.

Hey, it's good looking at them
I went on Oblivion *once* and it was three times too many... It's the only thing I've been on where I've come off shaking and lightheaded. Nasty.
oooh, that sounds like fun! I'd quite like to go parachuting or bungee jumping...

TeaKay Posted Jul 19, 2004
I skim- read that first line and thought you were saying something about being goodlooking. Damn.
I stupidly wore my glasses on it. Came out the other end with them still on my face, but only because one of the arms had been rammed up my left nostril.
No way, wouldn't want to be doing that kind of thing... Unless you'd be wanting some Milk Tray delivering, of course.

Quite a well travelled suitcase
I love big roller coasters , I've developed an immunity to heights over the years, I find being on top of ridges in storms fun, which is a little worrying . Oblivian's great, been on, well, I can't remember how many times actually.

TeaKay Posted Jul 19, 2004
Oh, the ridges/thunderstorms thing is something I've enjoyed for aaages. Along with tops of hills/ thunderstorms, and various outdoors/open/high spaces during thunderstorms. There's just a kinda... electricity... in the air.
Oblivion is scary

Oh, thundersorms I've loved for as long as I can remember, I mean the high wind, blizzard type storms .
I agree it's about 6 seconds of sheer terror, but then I just go and start queueing again until the stupid recorded message thing of 'T minus 5 minutes' etc drives me crazy

My suitcase turned up this morning! So I've literally spent the whole morning tidying..
Gawd, the thunderstorms in Florida were just plain scary, and I *like* thunderstorms. They're just huge and very very noisy.... I mean, we were coming back from Miami on the coach at night and we ended up driving throught the middle of this massive thunderstorm with a slightly psychotic bus driver... A bolt hit the road straight in front of us. Frightening.
It's the "don't look down" thing that gets me. Why even say it? It's not as if I'm going to look up!! Actually, what I remember most is looking down and seeing people queueing at the Pepsi stand, which I don't really think was the ambience they were aiming for...

TeaKay Posted Jul 20, 2004
Yey! You can charge your phone now...
It's about time we had a thunderstorm here. We just had a rainstorm- I'm glad it's finished; I was about to go out and start building an ark- but thunderstorms seem to be avoiding us. We need a nice one to clear the air up a bit. That's weird- a bolt hitting the road rather than a big metal bus or any other taller objects around.
I remember being at the top of Oblivion... seemed like an eternity. I remember pushing forward on the harness to push me back into the seat, and then thinking "what the hell am I doing?!?!? I'm pushing away the only thing stopping me plummet!". So then I started to pull the restraint towards me, and started thinking "What the hell am I doing?!?!? I'm pulling myself out of my seat!" I have arguments with myself a lot.

My phone is nice and charged. I did get your message, by the way, but at around 9 this morning because that's when I turned my phone back on... Generally I work on the basis that if someone wants to ring me much past 8pm, then it's tough, really Not like I get a lot of phone traffic, anyway.
Why do you think I was so scared!!! It's relatively calm down here, a bit overcast but no very muggy. I think we had the worst of it while I was away..
I argue with myself too. I just worry when there's three of me arguing.
Oddly enough, I don't tend to worry about my safety in coasters, apart from this one that I went on in Busch Gardens... It would have been a pleasant uppy-downy kind of tame coaster, but it was very old, very wooden and very rickety.. I spend most of the time tryign to keep myslef behind the lapbar... that was terrible.

TeaKay Posted Jul 21, 2004
Yeah I know- I got the deliever message at about 9 this morning. Hope you don't mind the intrusion into your phone...
It's nice and sunny today, and not too muggy. I hate it when it's muggy.
Yes, it's alwasy a little disconcerting when a third me joins in with an hitherto unexplored angle of an argument.
Most painful coaster I've been on was at Alton Towers, next to the new Spinball Whizzer. It's a kids one, and once I'd forced my knees in behind Abi's seat, I was worried that I'd never get out. About half way round, there's a bit where it suddenly accelerates, and on the first lap this caught me by surprise, and as the back of the seat only came up to about where my kidneys are, I felt like my spine was going to shatter.
We went round eight times. I thought she was never going to let us off.
