I though all lighthouses and foghorns had been changed to electronic stuff

Well the I don't know how it works, I just know it does

I know of at least one in the Bahamas that runs on kerosene and has the Fresnel lens in it. It sits on a 50 foot column of mercury!

The Needles Lighthouse was the last one to be automated, all I know about the foghorn at Southsea kept me awake all ing night

don't the residents of the area complain about it

Unfortunatly it's something we have to put up with I'd rather have sleepless nights than multiple shipping accidents in the harbour and Solent

true, its possible that because of all the shipping, some foreign ones might not have the electronic equipment, so sound still the norm,

i hope i get a good night sleep tonight im in the creche at church in the morning and then playing in the band in the evening!

I didnt get a bad night sleep though in the last hour we have had 6 fire alarms.

I dont mind them because im up for curch anyway but its keeping everyone else from going back to sleep.

it has just been off and the security guard was just going to turn it off and i told him to leave it on so that it will go off every 10 mins because im going out in 10 mins anyway

I once waved an arm, but he wanted it back, when I was at a training college, one tap in the washroom, if set right, would judder and make one hell of a noise(used to go off many an early hour of the night)can't say who

Guess who finally caught a speciem fish,while fly fishing with a wet fly....ME.....I'm going to get me a gold seal.
